I updated but did not submit. On march 1st, I waited ...And waited. Nothing. Went back to my profile and revert the changes and voila. Got the email in less than 5 seconds.

Now it may be a coincidence, but I don't think it was.

Ok. When ITA's are issued they have a specific number of candidates, so you are supposed to get an ITA if you are in that group based obn the profile that got submitted. Now, if you had revert changes probably that prompted your profile to sign out in their servers and when you logged in again in your home page, you had the ITA ready and so you got email.

Just one question, a silly one though, earlier in the day i entered my profile and clicked "view submitted application" and then clicked update form just so as to check my NOC codes, but didnt update anything actually. i hope it doesnt effect anything. Does it?

Best of luck to everyone who received an ITA... Take your time and read, re-read and re-re-read every line of instructions on the CIC website related to document requirements... Wherever you see a chance of a question being raised related to a point in your application, please submit a POLITE LOE with as much supporting documentation as you can so as to preemptively clarify their doubts.. If you have more than one LOE please put a table of content with page numbers for the convenience of the case officer...

All these help in fast tracking your process...

Yes, my friend did that same to one of the form in the profile but didn't update anything. You should still get an ITA in that case. My friend got ITA at 4:50 PM EST. It is 3:39 in Toronto.
