The wild card this year is the change of points made on 19 November. As a result, trends may look quite different this year. Live in hope.
So which way do u see it going? Positive?

Do u see coming down to 450 on 25th??

Hello there. My CRS score was 452 for last few months. However after the requirement changes by Govt. in Nov, the score came down by 1, the impact was due to qualification consideration of my wife. She is in the final year of her PHD, therefore her MSc. is considered for the purpose of immigration. Previously, there was an option of Bachelors + 1 year diploma that was the suggested evaluation by WES. However, with the current portal options setup, only Bachelors or Masters are allowed options in CIC. The overall impact has brought my application to 451. Can anyone comment on above situation, is this the right impact as I am managing my application by myself without any agent's guidance. Lastly, do you think 451 will qualify in the upcoming draws? I am just keeping fingers crossed that this 1 mark change should not be a major bottleneck.

There might be a slow down when approaching the 450 record.
Since IRCC never touched 449 before, I would guess 5 points cut down is more likely happen on Jan 25th.

I agree.

There can't be two draws with a drop of 9 points each.

Unless, IRCC has other plans. ;)

I am preparing myself for Feb 8th draw, when hopefully I'd get an ITA.

It will all depend how fast people land in high scores. If lmia addition had happened faster than students completing one year from their education, the it might go down quicker. If it's vice versa, scores might slowly start going up. It's hard to guess which could be faster.

University terms generally end in April/May, although some specialty programmes could end at other times.

Even if someone had started working from September, they would have gotten their PRs by now. Probably scores could get bit lower for few more months and then start shooting up. It will be interesting to see how things proceed in years to come as more students would flock Canada for education as very few countries are even allowing immigration on the whole.

Just got this link:

http://open.canada.ca/data/en/dataset/e8745429-21e7-4a73-b3f5-90a779b78d1e

90,000 LMIAs were approved in 2015, and similar numbers in 2016. All would have had an approved PRs as 600 points were awarded! With all of that scores have stayed between 450-480 in 2015 / 2016.

On the other hand, 2,50,000 students came to study in 2012/2013, who would be competing/actively entering in the current EE pool.

http://www.iie.org/Services/Project-Atlas/Canada/International-Students-In-Canada#.WHrjxVMrLIU

Anyone with Masters, CLB 8, and just one year of Canadian experience would have 500+ score! I am pretty sure there won't be 500 cut offs as it would again defeat very purpose of giving extra points, but it might stay between 450-480 in coming days. But the difference would be that earlier students with Canadian education would have struggled to get 470 or 480, but now they would easily get it with added points for education.

Some post grad options have an option to attend summer classes and can finish as early as January but not everyone does this because they want to use the summer break to work full time for around 4 months.

In my case for example, i will get around 481 points by 2018 assuming i get a 1 year skilled experience by that time. I only get 15 points additional for education because mine is just a post grad and not masters.

In the meantime, we are sitting at 457(spouse being the primary now) and this being the ray of hope thread, I hope the next draw will be at 450 with 3,000 ITAs.

Yeah, students can easily cross 480 mark as long as they have one year of experience, no matter what their degree. This the the very reason I feel cut-offs are going to stay between 450-480 or even 460+ in coming months. The downward trend might just last for few more months.
I hope at least the four provinces which consider outlanders (ON, NS, NB, PEI) continue to do so so that there will be a way for them.

Although what you have said makes perfect sense, but I would like to reiterate that whether the scores come down further or not depends on the number of ITAs being issued. If the ITAs remain at 2500+ for a few more draws then the cut-off scores are bound to come down even if we have a steady flow of international students entering the pool (we should also keep in mind that the number of international students entering the pool is also being offset to a large extent by the reduced number of LMIA applicants who received ITAs earlier by virtue of LMIA approval). And, it seems a bit unlikely that CIC would suddenly drop the number of ITA to less than 1500 from close to 3500 in the last draw.

Ok, its not a big deal really, as long as you are in 450 range.. it should come down to your level next month the latest!

ps. I dont think there are so many students to affect the whole ongoing EE trend. Look at the bigger picture that was explained by CIC and the stakeholders.

I am reffering to CIC presentation from July as they have announced all the changes that took place on Nov 19, and also scores coming down which is yet to come into existence
