i must say i was very disappointed with the previous draw - 2500 candidates and just 1 point drop... goes to show competition has become so much more fiercer lol...

will be very very interesting to see the next draw, i think CRS scores will probably go up and ITA number will be around the 2.5k mark.... thats what my crystal ball says...
We're still in the old system.

What a lot of people here aren't realizing is that over a thousand LMIAs are issued every month (go look at the LMIA related thread on this forum) . This means that 1000+ new people with 800+ points were entering the pool every month. With the new system, the vast majority of these people are now out of contention.

Everyone else (students, ICTs, NAFTAs etc.) with extra points have conditions to meet and cannot be replenished every month. Don't worry, even if the first few draws are high, scores will go down considerably in the next few draws.

Thanks for your response. I graduated from India. I had worked in canada in past but now i do not have any work permit.
My work permit was ICT which expired with my passport in June 2016.
If you worked in your ICT role for more than 12 months and your boss is offering you an ongoing position, you will be entitled to 50 points.

However if it was less than 12 months and you are now back in India, you will not be getting any extra points.

I'd be extremely surprised if you got an ITA in the next draw. I think that the strong likelihood is that there are more international students sitting around the 440-460 range than there are LMIA holders who will be displaced as a result of losing 550 points. My bet is that there will be a modest increase in CRS requirements for this next draw or two. Wouldn't be surprised to see CRS of around 475-480 with ITAs around 2300. It's a very difficult draw to make a prediction for though, these waters are truly uncharted!

In better news for you though, any backlog of high-scoring international graduates will quickly disappear. You can expect an ITA by the end of the year I think.
If by the end of this year i am ok my only worry is that i will
Loose 5 points by jan thats all

Other thing to note is that the work permit should be valid and a person should be working in canada. Then he could get one year offer after becoming PR will be able to claim points so its not straight forward.

Looks like I'm the only one who is expecting the CRS score to not increase (Or even a little decrease ;D) in the 48th draw. I know it's too ambitious but who knows. Fingers crossed.

I don't think the number for LMIA applicants would be as high as 1000+ every month, maybe around 500 is a more realistic figure, else how do you explain the considerably low number of ITAs that were being issued for the past number of weeks with a cutoff score of 500+

i agree, dont think LMIAs were 1000 like ever, we only started having 1500+ draws consistently 2-3 draws back... if you are saying out of 1500, 1000+ were LMIA, something was definitely wrong

i think LMIA were around 20-30% on an average, but thats just my thinking... have no data to support it however

I am on ICT and currently inside Canada. Do I need to provide any extra document for "your boss is offering you an ongoing position"

44% of all ITAs till May 2016 were LMIAs (from the Refocusing Express Entry presentation.). This is a fact, not an opinion. If there were very few LMIAs, what would be the point of reducing LMIA points.

I said 1000+ LMIAs were issued every month. Not all of them will be for permanent jobs (required for 600 points), but that still could mean 400-600 new high scoting candidate entering the pool every month.

Check this link (http://www.esdc.gc.ca/en/reports/foreign_workers/index.page) for statistics on LMIAs issed per quarter.

"i wonder how many were PNPs then"
