LolNo, They started awarding extra 30 points like 2 years ago.
I guess you are talking about this article: https://www.canadastudynews.com/2016/11/11/international-graduates-crs-points-canadian-education/For instance, the view that Express Entry was not giving enough preference to international students led to changes whereby international students are now awarded u

Hi,Hi Members,
I will complete my 3 years of experience in January 2020 and my score has already increased by 25 points last week from 450 to 475.
I want to ask if I apply in January with the ITA that I will receive today, will that be legible or does that puts me at a risk of getting my application rejected.
TIA
Hang in there. The score would go down some time. No reason to be panic if you are at 470GUYS,
I think people like us, who have CRS below 470 should start looking alternatives. WHY???
1. If you observe draws from Oct 2nd till now, it can be seen that around 2500 candidates with CRS 470 and above enter into the pool every two weeks, CONSISTENTLY. Also, around 800 PNP candidates with CRS 600+ enter into the pool. So, the total of people with CRS 470 to 1200 every two weeks is around 3300. In my view, IRCC will conduct two draws every week with invitations ranging between 3300 to 3600 in 2020. That means only new candidates with 470+ will be selected. By the way, I am not even considering the growth trend in the pool. On August, only 1500 people with 470+ used to enter the pool, and in October it was 2500. What if around 3000 people with CRS 470 to 600 enter into the pool. That's scary.
2. In order for CRS to go down by 1 point each, IRCC has to conduct draws with at least 3600 invitations. Invitations of 3900 might take the cut-off down by 2 points, but this seems highly unlikely.
3. So guys, if there is no back to back draw this month, I bet CRS will never come below 470. Plus, the backlog of candidates with CRS 470 and below is steeply rising.
Please explore whatever option is left with you, and do it fast(DON'T WAIT). Just don't sit idle. I myself have CRS of 465 and with IELTS could improve to 474 with CLB 10 in all four modules, which is going to be extremely tough, and I'm not even talking about the pain of spending thousands of rupees to take IELTS. Let's be hopeful, and work our ass off to get the CRS above 470. Good luck guys!
yes o. I'm completing hubby's ECA so we can move from 470 to 479. Desperate times require desperate measuresDamn, let me look for money and process my wife's ECA to jerk us up to 475 since 470's is the new 460
You can apply in January after you complete 3 years. No issues.Hi Members,

Really unfair to put Canada in there with US (or any other nation frankly speaking). So true.
Australia, Canada, US, all are tightening their standard and making it almost impossible to immigrate...
Exactly my thoughts.Maybe they decreased it to 3200 in order to have a b2b draw next week. So they won't exceed the total number of invited for 2019.
