Over the past several months plenty of people have made their predictions about the CRS decreasing. As we have seen, the general CRS trend is in an upward direction. Yet the people who promote the idea of the CRS decreasing continue to be praised while people have stated that the CRS will continue to increase have been attacked as being "negative".

The pragmatic approach would be to maximise your CRS. Retake the IELTS if you need to, apply to relevant PNPs, and continue to job hunt. Oh, and please ignore the false hope prophets...

I'm so sad man. I'm 23 yrs old, studied in Canada, got a well-payed job here and 2 yr Canadian Experience as a Software Eng., and got max score in all IELTS modules but still no hope. I sold everything back in my country to come and study here. I love Canada and I would rather die than leaving this place.
I'm sure you can ask your company to support your job offer with LMIA.

I'm at the same situation, maxed out everything possible. Right now I'm just waiting for the 50 points to come.

Good luck!

I'm a software developer, and as far I know, LMIA for Software Dev. is impossible. Moreover, My company doesn't wanna do that.

Let me also add that this is the season where fresh graduates from Canadian colleges enter the pool. The spike in crs score is expected. If you look at the 2018 draws, a spike of 4 points happened on the 3rd of October despite numbers of ITAs issued was increased from 3500 to 3900. I think we should remain calm and look at the next draw to have a clearer picture of things to come.

How does one go about in getting a nomination?Do you apply with each province?Or a job offer with NOC 2171.

Nope. I have only 459. I got no foreign education and experience. I came to Canada after my high school to study here when I was 18 years old.
Ah I see. Hang in there, I genuinely think it will touch 459 by the end of this year.

I'm trying to go for IELTS one more time to max out my score from 456 to 459; that's the highest I can go.

Good Luck!

I mention this in every thread and here we go again. CRS is on an unstoppable path up. It is not because of fake profiles, not because of any CIC conspiracy, or any other theory. May isn't the reason either. Its just a lot of people in the pool + other streams of entry (PNPs linked with EE).
Why is it so hard for folks to fathom that there are thousands of 30 year old masters educated people who are interested in Canada? Thats the profile of a CRS 460 candidate.

For everyone calling out for hope - PNPs (and perhaps just the OINP) are the only way out for a lot of people. Even here, cutoff scores are going to increase in the future. There's always enough accumulation that sporadic B2Bs will not help a bulk of candidates.

Where does that leave us?
1) Get into the pool quickly. Dont wait for x month to see where the score goes. Book the next IELTS slot if you havent maxed it already. Push to get your transcripts delivered quickly for faster ECAs. Get your spouse to take the IELTS etc. Dont wait.
2) Research NOCs. In-demand occupations dont change frequently. Each city has an established set of industries which are growing. Align your job responsibilities with these codes. Especially if you are interested in GTA
3) Don't speculate about scores going down, ITAs increasing etc. Assume that scores will go up over time. Anything else is a minor aberration and you wont know if you stand to benefit when it happens (e.g. B2B)
4) If you are below 455 today, buckle up. It'll be a long ride. The OINP firehose will continue strong through November. Then everything shuts down in mid-Dec, and with a new year, PNPs will start flowing again.
5) As of now, it looks like Jan - Mar will be the only window where we may see a dip in scores. (PNPs issued in 2020 will take a couple of months to flow through as nominations). There will be enough accumulation by then that even this dip may not be too much to push scores down.

All the best folks :)

This makes 100% sense.

Today’s draw was like a jab to my face:mad:.
Ray of hope becoming bleak... let’s just pray for a b2b draw for things to normalize.

Try convincing them because you are actually contributing one of their projects or apply for PNP.

I'm in BC and I know that BC is looking for software developer so it would be really easy for you to get BCPNP. Otherwise, OPNP is a great option since I'm seeing people with CRS around 43x getting OPNP.

Sure it would take a bit more time but it is viable. It is just not realistic to wait for CRS to come down.

Sorry but I'm in BC.

I don't know about the details of OPNP but you can skim through the replies in these ray of hope threads and find people who actually got their OPNP and ask them for help.

I convinced my wife to sit for another attempt at ielts which boosted my score from 459 to 463 and I was certain that the golden ticket would be destined in todays draw but it was a real heart break for me.

I'm not sure 463 is a safe score anymore in the upcoming draw, pretty confused now what to do
