I am not currently working but have 5 years exp in last 10 years. When i use the mock CRS calculator it shows 375 as score however when actually feeding in the profile it shows ineligible

I don't think it has anything to do with your Reading score. Please check properly.

Hello All,

I need some clarification on POF.

My wife has a savings account and its a year old account. Initial fund transfer was about $ 5K then I kept adding funds to the account and now it has enough funds to satisfy the POF criteria.
My question is should we show a affidavit for this? Because she is a housewife and she did not work since very long time.

Thanks and any input is much appreciated.

My point of view was to give equal opportunity to everyone and balance it out (like younger ppl getting pts and similarly experience ppl getting pts). I never meant to say young people are any less talented or don’t deserve but it shouldn’t be like “no country for old men” (pun intended for calling 30-35 old) either. I see so many people in these ROH forums who equally want to migrate if not more based on whatever their scenarios and circumstances are but yet feel sad when they age.

In reality, there is nothing like equal opportunity there. Canada is just picking their preferences (currently it is heavily focus on Academic knowledge of language, education and age). So age discrimination is a very intentional in EE. (because it is really not that hard to get 3 years of work experience together, so all those years of work experience are of no advantage what so ever).
The only way for it to be an equal opportunity is to do each round of draws like a lottery (a complete random pick of accounts).

But as it is, certain groups are at high disadvantage (old ones - especially 35+ where the age malus can add up; those with practical language knowledge, but not scoring perfect score in test; and of course those lacking master or 2 university diploma or a university diploma completely).
And is what it is.

One of my friend had a similar situation. He is in closed work permit and spouse in open work permit. With spouse CRS 449, without spouse 460. Got the advise from lawyer that we can go ahead with spouse unaccomonaying. Later once his PR is done he can sponsor his spouse and baby.

Yeah, would be interesting to hear what an immigration lawyer has to say about this. There are several people in Canada trying to do this, a couple has, while others (including myself) are scared to do it. I suspect that this is already happening and is one of the factors leading to high cut-offs(460s) that we are seeing these days.

Meanwhile, I understand that CIC has expressly said on twitter that if your points is low, then consider having your spouse non-accompanying, get PR and sponsor him or her afterwards.

I might be wrong but from what I know it is not possible to extend a post graduate work permit, so even if I apply for an extension, it would eventually get rejected and I would have to stop working at that point in time. Is that correct? Please let me know
Yes you can apply for extension only if your PR application is in process. If PR application is rejected they also cancel your work visa.

Guys, i am expecting ITA in end of august draw, can i go for police verification and medical now?
Yes, you can. But before going for medical, check with the center if they ask for ITA, most of the med center doesn't ask but have heard some cases.

@NikSharma01 bro last time you said based on your calculations you are expecting 452 to be cleared by the end of sept. Is it still stands? Guys, I am stuck with iqas as Wes given my wife master as diploma instead of master degree and if that is possible then will get additional points. Really disappointed the way draws are being conducted this year.

Oh really, where have they said a spouse can be non- accompanying?
