Hello Members,

Is it ok NOT to mention the salary of one of the foreign jobs i worked many years ago in the reference letter?

I can only remember the vague numbers (after deductions, not high level) ... I contacted the previous employer (a small private company), but due to company relocation, accountants change, etc., it is difficult for them to trace the gross figure. I also contacted the bank back to my country, they can pull out all the transaction details back to these years but it has to be me to collect it - is it realistic for me to fly back to my country just to collect it? And above all, the relevant numbers are of net income from that company, which vary each month due to different extra time each month. And i remember the year end bonus was paid in cash, not through direct debit ...

I also consulted my best Indian friend who successfully got PR through EE a couples years ago, he told me there's no mentioning his salary in his foreign work experience reference letter (Canadian experience, yes for sure).

But i am still worried, i do want to have my salary mentioned in my foreign job, but i am afraid if the number is not accurate enough, knida showing i am not honest enough, which would be the last thing i ever wanna do in my life.

So what am i supposed to do? Really frustrating ...

Hey, what you can do is get a letter from the employer stating this issue and have them verify the job description. as long as NOC is verified salary won't matter.

For your point 5 ~ CBC source June 16, 2019

63% want government to limit immigration and Minister Ahmed Hussen says he's concerned by the trend
https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canadians-favour-limiting-immigration-1.5177814

"On the flip side, 59 per cent of Liberals said they prefer government increasing the number of immigrants, as did 56 per cent of NDP respondents and 43 per cent of Green supporters. Only 19 per cent of Conservatives favoured this option."

If you know the political game, the leader will do things to get the vote which is why I think CRS may rise or decrease ITA in long term ~ won't have dramatic effect in short term
I have seen long enough to know that politics rarely concerns itself with 'long terms'. Minor changes accumulating over a stretched period to become a major change have lesser tendency to sway public opinion in one's favour. Robust and easily discernable changes is what politicians (at least when elections are near) aim at. With due respect, your analysis is off the mark.

Besides, the liberals, in order to win, don't need to bring a percentage of conservative voters into their fold, they only need to consolidate their own kin and as far as that goes, they won't touch immigration as it might prove a double edged sword for them (i.e by offending the 59% of liberal voters who want immigration levels to be raised).
They would instead focus on other more visible issues, such as carbon taxing, environmental issues, governance issues, economic reforms and obviously the not so smooth relationship with the big brother down south.

Thank you for your response.

But if i ask that employer to stating this pay issue it may make things more complicated. For one thing, how do they explain the cash bonus stuff? You know, in my home country, 99.99% small business owners try their best to evade taxation, it is a common thing to do.

Regarding duties, no problem at all.

In that case, have them mention a range of pay or don't mention pay. The only thing they need from your employer is verification of work and description. keep it simple. if they don't ask don't need to give.

Thank you for your answer. How long will the police clearances be valid? I am sure the score will come down in two draws so I am trying to get things done ahead of time rather than panic!
Better to wait till you get the ita. Seeing the scores in April /May I got mine done and the scores sky rocketed to 470.. The PCC is valid for 6 months, 3 are gone

Ja, you are right.

Now i am still trying my best to trace the gross figure - if that is not successful, probably i'll ask that employer to give a number as much close as to the exact thing. Regarding range, i totally have no idea how to write.

Or, just ignore mentioning it, as my Indian friend did.

At least, duties are clear.

Thank you very much.

Thanks ... i am giving IELTS exam again and can improve my score by 6 more points .. lets see ..but thanks for advice
I will be at 455 in one month, haven't created the profile yet.

If my writing (my weakest point) can maintain at 6.5 and speaking at 7.0, i wouldn't worry take more tests.

I'll wait till August to see if i have to take another test or more tests.

Good luck to you!

They don't mention the requirement of a salary anywhere. They just mention NOC. You should be ok if you do not mention. If they need more info they will simply ask you. Don't worry!
