RAMQ and OWP

Hello,

I am still gathering information before starting the sponsorship of my common-law partner. We are thinking about doing this inland (partner would be on visitor visa).

From what I understand, even after getting the OWP and CSQ there is no possible way to get RAMQ healthcare. We have to wait for the whole process to be finished (about a year), then there is a 3 months waiting period.

Is there any way to get RAMQ earlier? If not, anyone can recommend some insurance?

Hey. So were you able to get ramq for your partner? Does s/he have ramq coverage now based in her owp or did she need to get a private insurance? I am in a similar situation. Private medical only cover emergencies and I am a working, tax paying quebec resident, so I was hoping I would find someone who went through this and came out winning on the other side. Please reply.
