Alberta is quickly becoming: a below-average place to find a job.

Alberta unemployment rate reaches 7%, nearly 15,000 jobs lost.

Alberta's main money maker is oil. Oil goes down, many jobs go with it. It doesn't mean the province is doomed. Outside the energy sector, Alberta is doing well. The thing is that you don't hear much about it since energy is about 25% of the total GDP of Alberta.

The scary thing is that in stead of cutting back some expenses, the government will put the province into debt hoping the oil price rebound. However, OPEC wants to even lower the price of the barrel to $20 so the US stops production. If this does happen then things will get ugly for real. Government will start getting into debt in 2016 and will hope that by 2019, Alberta will highly profit from oil like it's been doing it until last year.

No answer on your question here....I sent additional documents 1 months ago and still nothing. Looks like it depends under which stream or category the application was applied.

I thit the idea of getting in debt is good for economy and for employment as well, the NDP has suggested is its last budget proposal that it will enhance the employment by encouraging the small businesses that create jobs. In addition to that working in the economy in these circumstances is better as it will let the province diversify its economy so its no as dependent in oil as if used to be. Now the good news is that by stimulating the economy that means they will still need people and thus continue the pnp program..hopefully.
