I do not understand this meaning very deeply...."AINP has traditionally operated on a first-come-first-served basis. For the rest of 2014, the remaining nomination certificates will be issued based on labour market information and industry general averages in recent years. This approach is fair because it means that more industries will be supported by the program. However, it does mean that some applications in sectors which have already received high levels of support will not be processed this year."

I wonder what the "sectors which have already received high level of supports" means. You guys think they are talking about the whole Employer driven skilled category? Sighs...

I think they are talking about those industries which got lots of nominations....for instance if food industry sector got 2000 nominations out of 5500, while trucking industry or manufacturing got 500, they will give priority to trucking/manufacturing applications...
This is my understanding, but I might be wrong...

I think they are talking about those industries which got lots of nominations....for instance if food industry sector got 2000 nominations out of 5500, while trucking industry or manufacturing got 500, they will give priority to trucking/manufacturing applications...

Hey, I went to the immigration fair yesterday in Calgary and I asked about the time line. The woman noted that our occupations play a role in us getting nominations faster (this is based on Alberta labour needs as we all knew) but she said that it is a primarily first come first serve arrangement. She elaborated that they follow the processing times for each category, and its based on when our applications were received. All the women at the booth assured me that no application would be thrown out (and will be processed if the applicants received a file number), and if something changes with the rules, it is for people who have not applied as yet.

But my personal philosophy is to take everything one day at a time and to see what will eventually change.
