the store's phone number.GurmanS said:What number did they call at your workplace ? Is it the number that was submitted as employee work phone or the general phone of the store ?
I'm trying to stay as positive as I can be though I am so stressed out. Advise to those waiting, please review your contracts or papers you submitted to AINP. In my case I'm so stressed out because when I review my contract after the call, it is in my contract that my employer provide accommodation for a certain amount but what I answered to the question is my employer did not provide and the owner is not my landlord, which is the truth.dave1987 said:Hi guys

She did not ask for the manager. So i guess they will ask anybody who answers the phone...its an edmonton number...my co- worker just told me after the call that it was from ainp asking if i work there...soon after she called me on my cellphone and my employer...GurmanS said:Did they talk to the manager or normal employees ?
do you have an lmo when you applied for extension? I can't see your NOC is included in the moratorium. I tried to call AINP on this matter and the agent told me that if I am nominated on Skilled Category, the nomination will still be processed even if work permit is expired, we'll just have to make sure we don't violate the conditions in our work permit such as over staying here or working without the proper papers.CT777 said:Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum. I applied for AINP under International Graduate category(Employer Driven Stream) on Dec 6,2013 , received my file number on March 12 2014. My work permit was expiring on March 14 2014, so applied for work permit extension on march 11, I went on implied status till May 14 but after my work permit extension result came, which was obviously going to be negative ,I had to stop work. I have no clue what to do now. My employer asked to me resign from job, but they told me they will re-hire me after I get my nomination and new work permit. My question is whether AINP gives nomination to candidates whose work permit expired? My employer is good ,if he gets a verification call from AINP, he will say that I will be re-hired if I will get my nomination. Is it wise to wait or to let go this whole process, which is very painful..
NOC: 6235 (financial sales Rep)
I would greatly appreciate all the advices and suggestions.

Thanks a lot Starla for replying. I am not currently working, but my boss promised me to re-hire me after I get my nomination. I applied under International Graduate Category, just like the skilled worker category it is also a employer driven stream, so I think they would consider my application. But the agents always says straight up, that we have to have a valid work permit while processing an application, which always put me under lot of stress.starla said:do you have an lmo when you applied for extension? Please call the AINP to verify, the agents are nice and they will answer your queries. (personal experience)
Thanks Qi for replying. I did apply for work permit extension before my work permit expired just to buy some time, which I could. I worked almost two months after my work permit expired. But I got my work permit extension refused couple of days before. After that company asked me to resign , but they are saying that will take me back after my nomination.Qi said:hey i remember someone shared a link of CIC about work permit expire situation. the official (cic federal) said if you apply your work permit before it expires, you can still work till CIC make their decision. So you can still work as full time till they either approve/reject your work permit extension application.
If they approve your application, i wouldn't see any problem.
If, unfortunately, they didn't approve your application, the situation turns to be quite negative since you have to keep your work permit vaild till you get PR.
Not sure if you were applying LMO or just post grad work permit extension.
Hope it helps.
But I don't think you need to resign before work permit decision. check the information and talk to your boss
Just make sure you do not stay in canada illegally by extending your stay without proper permit. I have coworker who is also in your position applied visitors visa. He knows that he has slim chance of being approved but he still filed through paper application because pricessing time is 55 days so he has still 55 days to wait for nomination. He applied early november for Ainp.CT777 said:Thanks a lot Starla for replying. I am not currently working, but my boss promised me to re-hire me after I get my nomination.
