Im so sorry to hear this. I am not sure how this works but, If you have a permanent job LMIA-exempt then could you try your employer to get IMM5802 done for you in order to extend ur WP ?

Applied for a wp online. i thought i would do a paper application but suddenly i realized i have 3 hours before my wp expires. i had to really rush. at least 2 months i would get in implied status. rest is on fate. i hope i would get the nomination by then. I have my study permit till 2016 sep. so I can stay. but I need to hold on to my job. if i lose it i wont get any in 2 years. considering the economy. i will be doomed.

Hey Guys. I read in Ainp websites that all applications under all categories should have a valid work permit except for the engineering one. Well I applied for the engineering stream Noc 2141 and my work permit expired and I didn't receive anything from Ainp. I'm only staying here in Canada as a visitor. I wonder if Ainp cancels applications after work permit expiry date? Is there anything I can do to get a final response about my file before leaving for good? Thank's

Hi everyone,

Can someone please clarify what my job NOC code would be?

I studied process engineering on Canada. I'm currently working as a project engineer on purely mechanical and civil engineering projects.

My title at company is Engineer In Training.

What should my title and NOC code be?

Thank you.

Did you try calling the AINP guys ??? My understanding is the same as yours..we don't need a valid work permit status for AINP to be considered under SRS ENGINEERING. Talking to lawyer would help you.

I think talking to lawyer would not help you, they know the same as we know. You have to stay in Alberta for thye whole process of AINP.
From AINP website:

- You must be currently residing in Alberta.
- You must intend to and be able to live permanently in Alberta.
- You must provide evidence of related education/training and experience as an engineer, designer or drafter.
- You must be currently working or have worked within the last two years in Alberta either directly or on contract for an Alberta Employer.

So if you have visitor visa it should be ok. Try to keep it valid as long as you can.
Maybe you should consider student visa. You can take 1 year program and work part time while waiting for AINP. It will be expensive but it gives you another year
