Just had a conversation with my friend who works in immigration agency coz my very best friend's work permit is expiring next month.
She submitted hers in late April and got AOR early May, file number Aug 1..(under SRS post grad, lots experience and been in alberta over ten years.)
My agency friend said nothing she can do so far, and lots trouble to get LMO at this stage. She suggestions" people who's WP is expiring ALL TO APPLY CEC right now. If you are under C category, make the title to B, and change the duties a bit...just give a shot. AINP's running out of nomination quota, by extending processing time can get rid of people whose wp expiring soon(i know this is not right...)while lefting rest for next year's express entry. "
I am asking if category C gonna be eligible for next year's express entry/can get LMO or not..will keep you guys posted when i got her response..

I don't know about changing job title. I guess it's easy for you coz you hold an open work permit. But most of us here are under closed work permit. The job title is subject to the lmo or lmia.

I think this Express entry will not play a good role for all semi-skilled who are waiting for the nomination.
I have a feeling ainp will just process few of skilled and semi skilled till the end of this year. And for rest ones will suggest to apply through Express Entry which means semi-skilled wont be able to make.

Qi,
Do you think if i ask my employer to give me a letter stating that i was promoted as a front desk supervisor a year ago, that would be enough to try to apply?
Or CEC will require lmo, job contract and so on to make sure you really work as a skilled worker?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5610E.pdf section 10. In order to make sure that you've been working in that position they'll check that your wages are between the ones given in http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/wage-outlook_search-eng.do?reportOption=wage so it's not enough with the reference letter. But they won't ask for your LMO. Remember that you'll have to submit your work permit and in that document you have your job written. According to the law, if you change your position you have to ask for a new LMO and a new work permit.

Don't be so pessimistic. Pnp is likely to remain same as the way it is now. I mean you could apply thru express entry as well but it will be only 'a portion' as cic says. Let's see and wait till the end of this year how the ee will be played.

you definitely can do this if you are holding an open work permit. not sure for people under LMO tho. My friend uses same trick but she's under post grad open work permit

one question . if processing time that longer then why they are sending file number so early. if we receive a file number that means our file is in process ,isnt it ? did not get that

As they said, it's not processing based on first come first serve. They must reviewed the title/qualification/files already before giving out file number, but choose the best from the pool to issue nomination.

thnaks buddy . can u kindly tell me about your occupation .

They are still working on applications received on November 22-27. The processing times will not go down in the nearest future for sure, but it may go up again as they have to do a double work updating files as they have been sitting on shelf for a year. Plus they are receiving 250 new applications every week.

So basically it's just a political decision to hire more staff or make changes in rules or stop accepting new applications at all. And that is Ministry of Jobs, Skills, Training and Labour to decide not the AINP.

I wont be able to apply throught EE as I am a noc C...
Moreover my work permit expires 02/2015 and as of summer 2015 they want to change duration of stay as a worker from 4 to 2 years. And im sure they will.
Looks like Canada needs only skilled workers and semi-skilled will be replaced by new foreign workers that will come only for 2 years.

I just cant be optimistic sorry :((

Can someone please answer my question?

If the 5500 quota reaches by the end of year 2014, what happens to the rest of applications that were accepted in year 2014 but have not been processed yet? Do they get carried over to the next year's application pool or do they automatically get disqualified and returned to applicants?

I have applied for AINP in Feb. 2014 and received my file number on Apr. 2nd. If AINP continues screwing up everyone's life like this, it is very likely that I will hear from them about the result in mid 2015.
