Hello everyone,
This is my first post here. So please help me out with your knowledge. Me and my wife recently applied for PR under Express Entry Skilled worker category. My wife is the principal applicant. I am on an LMIA job and my work experience contributed 5 points towards the CRS points. My question is, If I quit my current job, will that be a problem towards the PR application? Or how long do you think I will have to wait before quitting? I am not happy at work but holding on. We have already submitted our application for PR. Please help me out with your knowledge and experience here. Thank you.

Your points are "locked in" when you submit the application, so any events afterward that date shouldn't count to change the invitation. That being said, will losing those 5 points drop your score below the cutoff points required in the draw you received the ITA?

Yes it would. The draw came in at 440 and we had 441. Any need for concern? I still work there.

Your score should be 441 at the time of AOR. This is the final lock in time. So post AOR if you quit it does not matter.

Just to clarify, my wife is the prime applicant and my LMIA did not contribute any points towards the application. It's just the fact that I am in a skilled work and had 1-year experience as a skilled worker in Canada that contributed 5 towards the total CRS score of 441. If my wife had a LMIA she would have gotten an additional 50 points as she is the prime applicant.

Ok so the points you contributed were for already having 1 year experience, so quitting now wont have any effect.

Just one point to notice, as i dont know your stream. If you were exempted from giving proof of funds because of this employment then i would be careful. Otherwise, if you are CEC applicant, or POF exemption was based on your wife, then there wont be any issues.

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes we had to show funds based on my wife. My stream of work is Food and Beverage Production/Service and this is what contributed 5 points.
