Hello, I've been browsing this section of the forum for a little over a month now. I've also looked at the immigration requirements; ect.
I just have one question ; once I do get PR status, will I be able to attend college in Canada?
Story : I'm in a long distance relationship ; a little over a year now. Both of us are still in school / but are looking for jobs soon. I'm thinking a few years ahead and trying to plan all of this so we can get married when I'm above the legal age of 18. (I'm hoping to get married at 19.)
I plan on taking the 'Spouse/Marriage' route. While I know red flags will come up if it's just an internet based relationship, we are planning to visit each other a few times before getting married. It all depends on whether we can get jobs and get the money for it.
I'm hoping to visit him a few times; spreading out the 6 month visa time I can. I also hope he can visit for as long as possible; but still in small amounts. Towards the last little bits; when I'm 18/19, I'm hoping we can get married in the US. Nothing fancy; just nice and simple so we can get this all over with. A year after that for procession fees is quite a long time and I'd rather live with him the fastest way.
Anyways; for the proof, we plan on
1)Pictures, lots of pictures
2)Skype chat / video records
3)Marriage documents
4)Letter/ postage receipts
5)Anything else I can think of. (Recommendations?)
Now, say this works and I'm able to come to Canada and live with him. After turning into a permanent residence; will I be able to attend college there?
Also ; I don't plan on doing the whole 1 year common route. Marriage seems easier to me. And I also feel like I'm going to get judged for being a teenager and getting into a long distance relationship. I actually feel pretty silly posting this; but I've known the man for 2 years and we are in skype video calls for 11+ hours a day when we can and it's just.. ugh so hard having to wait all these years to be with the person I love.
But for one additional question; Before all of this happens I have to tell my parents at some point. I'm a bit scared. I've never had a talk with them about relationships or boys or dating.. and it's really awkward. I'm afraid they would judge me for it not being a physical relationship.
Thank you for reading; any suggestions or answers are lovely.
