Hi,
I am working in US on temporary working visa. I want to apply for Canada Permanent resident from US. I have been working as Software engineer and have around 5 years of experience plus 18 years of education including 4 years of engineering (Electronics and Telecommunication) and 3 years of Engineering Diploma (Electronics and Telecommunication). I have never been in Canada. I am single.
I was going through the Canada immigration site and came across the 67 passing marks criteria to be eligible for applying for PR. Here are my few questions:
1. As education is one of the criteria for those 67 passing marks, i have noticed there, they have mentioned more marks for a 3 yrs diploma (22) rather than a 4 years engineering (20). As i have done both, but my higher qualification was 4 years engineering. But i am bit concerned if i could get 22 marks for it as i have done diploma also.
2. The another step is language proof for English/Canadian if it is not your first language. I belong to India so my first language is not English/Canadian, but english has been my first language for my education. i am not sure if still i need to give IELTS test for getting the proof of languae proficiency.
3. Is it really required to have 67 marks to apply for PR?
4. I don't have any arranged employment in Canada and even not planning for it before getting the PR. Please suggest if it is fine.
5. I am not going through any lawyer in Canada for applying for PR but planning to file it by myself. What do you suggest the best way to go for it?
I would appreciate if you could please advise me on the above..
Thanks for your help.
Regards,
AS
