Hi guys,

I was filling out the forms for Provincial Nominee Federal application. In many of its form it asks us to fill a "From" and "To" date for either address or for current occupation. What I am I supposed to write in the "To" field of my current job as I am still employed in that job. I do not know when will I change my job. Should I leave it blank? I tried to contact CIC call centre but there telephone lines are always busy. I would really appreciate if you can help me in this regard. I apologize in advance if this question has been asked in other parts of the forum as I could not locate it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Being that the electronic file wouldn't accept anything other than a valid date, I left those blank and wrote "To date" in pen after I'd printed the forms out.

I was nominated for PNP doing that, so I presume it's fine to do so.

Thanks for the reply YL and bradders.

The issue with leaving the "to" date blank and then writing Present in the printed form is that I cannot validate the pdf files as now a days CIC requires the form to be electronically validated which generates a bar code. So if i leave it blank it would not validate. So was wondering if leaving blank would work.

From what I remember, the form that asks for employment dates isn't one of those that requires validating. When I did it, it felt a bit dirty just scrawling on my forms in pen, but it's the only way to be fully accurate!

What i did i wrote everything and print that page separate and keep that blank.
and that what exactly she told me from my email

From NSNP Office

-Write “Present” in the “To’ column as the end date for your current activity.
o In Sections 9 and 12, write “Present” in the “To” column as the end date for your current items.

From what I understand you all are talking about forms related to submission to provincial office. This is part-1 of the process. Once you get the nomination certificate the Part-2 of the process requires you to apply to Federal office by submitting your nomination certificate. In the forms for federal appl (Part-2 of the process) you cannot leave the "To" date blank as then the form cannot be electronically validated which is mandatory.

Which form specifically are you talking about? From memory, the only form that has the barcode validation is "IMM008 General Application Form" and that doesn't ask for employment dates. You submit that form to both the PNP and CIC but it shouldn't need any employment dates.

Whereas the "IMM 5669E Shedule A" asks for employment dates, but doesn't need to be filled in electronically. So your best bet is to fill as much in as possible electronically (leaving the "To" sections blank), then print it out and fill the rest out in pen!

Hope that helps!

Thanks bradders for your help.

In the IMM008 form it asks for the "to" date for current country of residence. Since I am staying in Canada and I intend to stay here forever. In this case what should the "to" date contain?

For that I wrote the expiry date of my current work visa. Which actually runs out next month, but I've just applied for an extension using my PNP letter, so by the time they come to read that form all should be well!

Good luck with the paperwork, it feels good to get it all posted off, trust me! :)
