Hi,

Experience letter issued by the employer did not specify exact start date, They just mentioned the month and year of Joining. Do you guys see any problem here? Or should we try to get this letter again with exact starting date? We have other documents like Joining/confirmation letter to prove the start date.

One more Q, The experience includes a probation period. This is paid and upon an successful evaluation, confirmation is done. Is there any problem with claiming experience for this period?

A combination of both should be fine. Also, it may help to mention in your Letter of Explanation (this is done post ITA, NOT when creating EE profile, just to be clear).

Ensure that the letter is specific about what the working hours, pay, and responsibilities were during probation period. For instance, if during probation, you were only required to work 25 hours a week, it may not count as full time work (thus reducing your overall experience potentially impacting your CRS score). If all of the aforementioned were same, ensure that the letter calls that out specifically.

Thanks for the reply systix,

There is no mention of probation period on the experience letter, and full time hours are clearly mentioned on the letter. Probation period is only mentioned on the Joining letter.

You should be fine if the experience letter is specific to say what hours/duties/pay was throughout the employment period stated.

Awesome, Thanks for the help. Would have been pita dealing with employer to get letter again :)

Hi Guys,

Need your suggestions on experience letter. My company is not giving experience letter with information required for PR. They are mentioning my Job code, start date, package except duties/responsbilities. Will CIC accept this one? if not what can I submit to CIC as a proof of employment.

Thanks,

Job duties are pretty much a MUST REQUIREMENT. That is the only way IRCC can actually validate that the NOC code you mentioned is in line with what you are doing.

There are other posts on this forum, please feel free to search. Many suggestions there are to look towards getting a signed letter from your immediate peers or immediate manager and attach that with their business card (along with mentioning a little detail in your LoE as to your company declining to give letter with job duties.)
