question on police clerance and medical exam

Hello everyone

I am a new member , and love this forum. it has saved me from hiring a immigration lawyer !

So i did have a question

I am going to India to get married in Feb , my fiance is from Punjab I am a canadian PR.


Question is -- i plan on going in feb and coming back in march and submitting the paperwork for visa , now I know he needs a police cleareance and medical exam done

My question is when should he get the police cleareance and medical exam done and how long does it take for medical and police cleareance? since we are getting married in feb.. and I believe these examinations are only valid for one year.

The best is to first apply for police check as i know in certain countries like the US it can take up to 12 weeks for it to come out. I sent in my application with everything done did not wait for immigration to request it from me.

We are doing Outland, husband is an American. We sent for his police certificate in April, he got it back in July. We waited until right before we sent in the application to do his medical as it is only good for a year and didn't want to take the chance of it expiring. I figured upfront was better than our application being put on hold while CIC requested for one and we had to wait for an appointment.

It's good to have Marriage Certificate during PCC application.
