hello all,

I am filing an sponsorship application for my wife, to give you the background, my wife is currently on a visitor visa to Canada and will be here till November, she will go then to india and may come back in 2 months if the decision on her application is not reached.

so for GenericApplication for Canada :

1) what should I put on her Residential Address ? Canada or India ?

2) also what should I put her as Current country of residence ?

3) Also there is a question on Sponser form - Are you living with someone ? - for this I have listed my wifes name as we are still living temporarily together ? is this correct? please advise.

Please advise folks , need some urgent help.

1) what should I put on her Residential Address ? Canada or India ? - India

2) also what should I put her as Current country of residence ? - India

3) Also there is a question on Sponser form - Are you living with someone ? - for this I have listed my wifes name as we are still living temporarily together ? is this correct? please advise. - Yes, you must declare that she is living at the moment with you.

She needs to keep all the proofs that she was living with you.

Perhaps you need to make some declaration for her. I had to make this for my wife (she lives on canada, she is resident permanent), I had to declare that she lived with me since 2012 at 2013 on Brazil. And she had to fill this same question on forms, because they will ask her about it on forms. They need the official address of her, because she is on Canada like visitor. I think the visit address is not official. But I think it is better you make a call to then, it's the right thing to do. =O

India

India (as stated previously)

Yes, you have it correct.

(and you won't need to prove that she lives with you)

1. India.

2. India. She's visiting Canada, not residing in Canada.

3. Yes, list her name. I was a visitor in Canada when my husband and I filled and mailed the application. Even though I was a visitor and not considered as actually living in Canada, he did answer on his application that he was living with me (IMM 5540, question 12); and on my side (IMM 5490, questions 25, 27, and 28) I did the same. I have read in this forum of some people getting in trouble with their applications when the officer decided that the couple had lived together for short periods of time (during visits) but the couple had indicated in the application that they had not lived together (because those were just visits), so I'd opt to be in the safe side here.
