Hi everyone, my wife is sponsoring me outland application permanent residence since she is Canadian and im from Guatemala. I had a question concerning financial questions, she doesn't have an option c printout since she only lived till age 9 in Canada before moving to Guatemala. Do we have to provide income requirements? What are the requirements, is there a specific amount? Can those bank statements or certificates be in Guatemalan currency? Should those funds have to be under her name or any one of us?

thank you

Does she live with you in Guatemala at this point? If she intends to sponsor you from outside of Canada she has to provide proof that she intends to return to Canada as soon as application is approved. There is no any income requirements to sponsor a spouse but she will have to show proof that she intends to leave Guatemala and reestablish life in Canada and explain how she intends to support you there.

Hi thank you for your answer

She does live with me in Guatemala. What documents or how does she prove she will intend to return to Canada and intend to support me after approved application?

thanks

Guatemalian visa expiring, job offer from Canada, evidence of job search in Canada, enrolling or plans to enrol in studies in Canada, tickets to return to Canada. Letters to/from family expressing plans and arrangements returning to Canada. Anything like that.

Thank you very much for the information

With regards to income requirements I understand there is not a minimum. Still my wife (sponsor) and myself (being sponsored since Im from Guatemala were we live currently) are presenting savings or fund certificates from various financial institutions. One is under her name and one is under my name, I understand this doesn't really matter as long as its our funds? If I can should I present another fund I have under my name (not my wife who is the sponsor) or is that not necessary?

thank you
