Hello all,

In March, to apply for Supervisa for my mother, I bought a one year medical insurance for her. However, as applications are not processing currently, chances are the visa would not be granted before the effective date of the insurance (in August).

Do you think I can cancel the insurance before the effective date to avoid it going to waste ? Would it cause problem when cic start processing application again then they realize the insurance is cancelled ? I mean, there is no rush for my mom to come this year, i can always buy a different insurance for her when there is a better travel plan.

Any channel we can check with cic regarding this issue ?

Thanks a lot for your help

You can check with insurance company or broker whether you can cancel the insurance. I don't think it would cause problem because of covid.

@ginichi, any update on the supervisa ?

Hi gagzzz, my mother finally got the visa before expiry date of the insurance. I then cancelled the insurance as she is not travelling right now.
