Hello guys,

I am a Filipino and currently working in KSA and is now eligible to apply for a permanent residence in Canada. My wife is the principal applicant under Live-in Caregiver class. I got the checklist and I have 90 days to submit all requirements to Abu Dhabi.

Thing is, I am confused about Saudi Police Certificate. I emailed Abu Dhabi Immigration asking for the request letter a week ago and I got a reply today saying it will be sent by close of business today and it may take up to 4 months for the delivery.

Can I just go to the Phil. Embassy and get this Saudi Police Certificate started? Phil Embassy's site says:

If the applicant is still residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:

The applicant must obtain from the Embassy a Letter of Endorsement addressed to Saudi police authorities. To obtain this, please present to the Embassy a copy of your valid passport or residence permit (iqama), and pay the notarial/certification fee of SAR 100.00
The applicant should then bring the Letter of Endorsement to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SMFA) for authentication. The SMFA’s authentication fee is SAR 30.00
After authentication by the Saudi Ministry, the applicant should then present the Letter of Endorsement to the police station of the city district where the applicant resides. The applicant will be asked by Saudi police to fill-up a fingerprint card. The applicant should also be ready to present his or her residence permit (iqama) upon request.
The police clearance is usually issued within a week.

Please let me know if I can do this. One more thing, does the Saudi Police Certificate have to specify Canadian Immigration or is it just going to be "to whom it may concern" kind-of ceritificate?

Thanks a bunch!

You should received the document checklist for your application enclosed with the request letter of Police Certificate from CIC Abu Dhabi (the request letter is written in Arabic) but if this is not available you can visit Canadian Embassy/Consulate and they can provide you a request letter, you just need to show to them the checklist and letter you received from CIC Abu Dhabi.

Yes you can also get your Saudi Police Certificate through Philippine Embassy because based from what I've read in the forum other applicants this is what they did.
