Hello guys.

I will have thesis defense and graduate in Canada soon, but my Convocation will be held in June 2016.
So I won't get my degree until June 2016.
Suppose that I have got 450 points, Can I apply for Express entry before June 2016?

I think as long as you finish your study requirements, you can apply and get the points. A friend of mine has applied for work permit right after his last course's grade was posted.

Thanks for replying. I will also apply for work permit in Nov 2015 as soon as I get the all the credits.
But I am not sure can I also apply for EE without degree.

As long as you finish your degree, and got a confirmation letter from your school in order to obtain a PGWP, you are eligible for EE. I didn't receive my degree and attend the convocation until 4 months after I graduated.

I have exactly the same question and confusion.

Can any of you confirm that one doesn not have to wait for convocation for the actual diploma/degree/certificate?
The only concern here is that if I create a EE profile and get the ITA soon before convocation, I will have to decline it if i don't have the actual diploma by that time.

Thanks!

since they do ask for a copy of the degree itself in the documents post ITA, its probably best not to claim points for a degree until its actually awarded to you.

The convocation and the diploma/degree don't matter at all, it's just a piece of paper that your institution prints out and hand to you. What matter is the date of your graduation on your official transcript. You can always ask your school to back you up in case CIC asks for the degree.

In my case, I officially graduated in January, applied and received PGWP on April, and since my uni only hold convocation in June and September. I had to wait until June before I can get my hand on the degree.

Hi,

I was wondering if you have got any success with using the graduation letter?
I am in the same position so when filing the profile I wrote that my degree was awarded on the date I got the graduation letter. However if I get an ITA i probably would still have chance to upload my actual degree as it will be conferred within the 90 days to fill the application. I am afraid that they reject it since I technically didn't state the correct date for degree awarded :(

Guys,

I got my master's in Canada in October 2016.. but convection is in June 2017... Confer date of degree is in June 2017.. letter of completion confirms that I completed all the requirements of that degree and that I would get my certificate in June 2017!!

If I chose that degree complete but no degree awarded would I lose points?

I already got ITA and choose that degree awarded!... I should get my certificate this June!!

If I submit, will my application be rejected!

What is the point from waiting 8 months!!!! This means I will also miss the rest of June draws!!

PLEASE ANYONE HELPPPP
