Question about how to send photos

Hi everyone, as I am completing my sponsorship application package I have a few questions before I finish it off if anyone can help me out

1. We have about 80 photos total (30 from the wedding, 50 others). I have hard copies of the photos in my hands, can I tape four photos to a standard piece of paper (2 on each side) ? I'd rather not make digital copies.

2. And then include a table of contents page describing the photos?

3. Is 80 too many or not enough?!

I ask these questions because in the Latin American Guide section it says the following: Photos must be loose. Do not send them in binders, albums, frames or other such containers. Do
not send video discs or video cassettes. Do not send musical greeting cards or other similar
documents containing electronic or mechanical devices.

It says they must be loose, so does that mean I should not tape them to a piece of paper? That may be an obvious question for some people but I wouldn't ask if I knew for sure!

Hey Chauncey.

I think 80 pictures is too many...i had to send 12-15 pictures..but again it varies..have they not mentioned exactly how many photographs they like?

and yes keep pictures loose...for mine it was instructed to write behind each photograph describing the event and the people and how they were related.

As long as your pictures gives them a clear idea of your ceremonies, events, relationship etc. you should be good. I have about a 100 photos, and I just wrote on the back of each photo. I know of others that have done the same and there were no issues. Also, I know of people who have submitted 150 photos in total, so it doesn't matter how much you submit. Just make sure the pictures are not too similar in nature.

I just put the photos in envelopes, and on the envelopes I wrote the Event and Date.

I don't think it's necessary to tape your pictures.

All of ours are digital, so I just took a jump drive to Staples and printed them off, two to a page, with the explanation for each photo typed below the picture. I think we did about 3-5 for each year we were together and then about another 10 for the wedding. It's hard because we don't have a ton of pictures with both of us in them because my wife is the chief picture taker in our family, which means she's nearly always behind the camera.

Maybe in three or four different envelopes would be acceptable I'm thinking. One from our time in Canada, one from our time in Mexico, and another of the wedding. Thanks for the tip!

My wife also put them loose in between two envelopes. On the front of the envelopes we wrote (roughly) what types of photos are in them. A total of 60 photos.

You can use MS Word or publisher or whatever and put 3-4 on a page with a caption and print it at staples with colour laser. It's fairly cheap and easy, and no chance of them losing the photos since it'll be standard 8.5 x 11.
