Hello everyone,

Could anyone please answer my question?

My common law partner ( Canadian) will sponsor me by applying common law application.
Both of us currently live in England and we decided to apply in Canada.

When we go back, we won't be able to settle down soon.

His dad offers us to become my sponsor. Is there any way that his dad gest involved and becomes our co-signer?

Thank you for your time.

You can't have a co-signer on a common law application. There's no way his father can be a sponsor. The most he can do is provide a letter stating he is going to help / support you financially.

Thank you for your answer.

Another question I am also concerned is that we live in England from 2019-09 to 2020 09 and we will spend one month in my country (Taiwan). Will it affect our application if we apply in Canada. We want to apply in Canada because I can get a work permit and work.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You have to prove common law if you want to successfully apply. This means you have to prove you that you have cohabitated continuously for at least one full year. It doesn't matter where you cohabitated as long as you can prove the full year. Not sure I understood your question.
