Hi everyone, for IMM 5532 Form (relationship information), do applicants need to sign it electronically, or sign it on the paper form then upload the scanned version?

Thank you!

This form causes a lot of problems and has multitude of answers of what is right or wrong. One thing is clear - it was badly designed and it’s the only form that requires some strange actions to sign in electronically. There were many reports that people got this form returned. Some reported that printing, signing and scanning got their form returned. Some reported that digitally signed form was returned. However, I personally didn’t examin any of the reported forms so I cannot really make any conclusion why it was actually returned.

In November I printed and signed and scanned this form. And it was accepted. Got AOR in February. Your mileage may vary.

Hey I just typed my name and sponsor name after print to pdf . Is it a good approach or you suggest putting the signature in like adobe allows us to draw our signatures

i guess it should be fine. Don't forget to sign all required fields. There are 4 (plus more if applicable to certain situations)

You can sign electronically, just make sure not to miss any signature.

Best of luck

I'm going to do both and upload both. Sign a copy by hand, scan and upload and also sign a copy digitally and upload both copies. So hopefully if one is correct they will accept the correct one.

Don't do that. That will just be a burden to them. I got my PR recently. You just need sign it digitally (either using the draw function on adobe or simply typing your name). No need for printing/hand signatures.

Ah yes you're right, it says on the IRCC website:

Signatures
By digitally signing your application, you certify that you fully understand the questions asked, and that the information you have provided is complete, accurate and factual.

This section must be digitally signed and dated by:

  • the sponsor;
  • the sponsored person (principal applicant).
In order to sign this form, you may have to complete the following steps:

  • Download the completed form
  • Go to File and Select “Print”
  • Select “Microsoft Print to PDF” from the Printer location
  • Save the file to your desktop
  • Sign the form by typing your name in the signature fields

can i do both? Type my name and draw the sign beside it?

Hi Guys,

for electronic signature should I type my full name and draw my sign beside it?
or just write my full name?
or both could be acceptable?
