Hello, Please suggest the quickest way to get criminal record check for citizenship application.
I was going through website Commissionaires and they have an option for electronic submission which takes 24-48 hours and they do a name and date of birth based check to ensure you don't have a criminal background.

Is this the proper way to apply or do we have to go for the fingerprints search ?

Can anyone help me with how I should go by getting this clearance ?

Thank you

Which country are you trying to get police clearence from ?

Check this link. I don't think there are any "quick" ways. Correct way is what is mentioned on the page below. I believe you will have to contact the Consulate to get one.

I am applying from within Canada
Why do you need police clearance then ?

. Police certificate(s) (as required)
You are required to provide a police certificate for each country, other than Canada, where you were present for a total of 183 days or more during the four (4) years immediately before the date of your application.

I thought I did need police clearance from Canada as well. I have not lived in any other country in the past 4 years for more than 183 days so does that mean I dont need police clearance or criminal background record check ?

No, you don't need any checks from Canada. IRCC will automatically run them.

I recommend to read the instruction guide.

Great... Thank you for clarifying that. I just want to make sure I dont get my application returned for not providing complete application

Thank you once again my friend

Please advise me if I need a police certificate :

In the last five years back from Oct. 11, 2017 to Oct. 11, 2012, my residency in Canada was as follows

entered July 1, 2012, left July 1, 2013 (stayed in another country from July 1,2013 till Jan. 10,2014).
entered again CANADA Jan. 10, 2014, STAYED UNTIL NOW Oct. 11, 2017 (Left a few days in different times during this period only
for conferences of a total of 1 month).
I became PR in May 6, 2015.

If we count back 4 years immediately from the date of application Oct. 11, 2017, it back to Oct. 11, 2013,
Do I need a police certificate for such long stay in the another country from July 1,2013 - Jan. 10, 2014?

Yes and No. Your period for four years start from Oct 11, 2013 to Oct 11, 2017. Hence, it will be less than 6 months. However, there is a good possibility that CIC may ask you for Police Certificate, but in either case, you do qualify, the only thing is that your file might get delayed.

I had already applied for a police clearance and fingerprints from Ottawa and received them.

Should I send them anyway or that will have a negative effect on my application?

Follow checklist and go through guide. It's your best guide. If not asked for a document, no need to provide.
