Hi Folks,
My application(as Quebec Selected Skilled Worker) is received on Nov 1, 2017 , Aor somewhere around Jan 21st 2018 and pre arrival on July 26, 2018. I'm an inland applicant , currently in Quebec with closed work permit . Since 2 years ,I'm eligible and easily can get around 460 it's in express entry . Just that I lived in Quebec for more than 5years , I decided to stay back here in Montreal but applied late for the residency. I'm really tired of waiting for so long . What are my chances that I get my residency within 2019? If I decide , now to withdraw my application at federal stage and apply for express entry , what happens to my status in Canada ? Any insights/advice please.

Just make sure if you are eligible to apply for express entry with quebec experience.

You should get it in 2-3 months, with new rule mostly mid-late 2018 applicants will be affected.

One of the issues is that applicants send incomplete applications and this also makes processing time longer, they put more effort to figure out.

The percentage of incomplete applications is very low. The fact is Federal is not processing applications once they reach the final review stage. I have interacted with or observed at least about 150 applicants to reach this conclusion.

Hello all,
Just to share my timeline ans see if others are in the same situation

Outland
Application received - july 21, 2017
AOR - Nov 1, 2017
Additional background document - Jun 1, 2018
Processing of Application - Jul 11, 2018
Medical request - jul 17, 2018
Pre-arrival service - jul 18, 2018
Medical Done - nov 22, 2018(approximate)

Everything else is "processing"(background, eligibility and additional documents)

Is anyone else in a similar spot? Getting to the 20 month mark and haven't heard anything since November and getting a bit worried, even more so with the news about things getting delayed.

Almost same time line and still awaiting ppr. What VO is handling your application? Mine is London UK

Hey Ahmed74,

I am originally from Brazil, but I applied from Ireland, which I currently reside in, so I assume London as well.

Forgot to ask, are your background and eligibility checks also stuck in processing?

Hi

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me. I am really in a bad dilemma I know it may not be the proper place to ask the question but I can not find any answer anywhere else.

I have been starting my Ph.D. at a university in Quebec (Mcgill) very recently, and at the same time, I realized that I am also eligible for Express Entry (after calculating my score on the CIC web site, the score was 461). However, by studying the EE rules, I realized that according to EE regulations one must plan to live outside the province of Quebec. I know that you can apply to express entry from Quebec but I have come up with a question that if I open the Express entry profile and my profile goes forward, can I continue my education here and leave Quebec after my graduation or I have to leave Quebec as soon as my profile goes to the next steps?

Btw, I searched to see if there was anyone with the same problem but all of them were in work permit while I am a student here.

thanks a lot
