Already feeling a Canadian now. Laptop screensaver is now Canadian Flag and was singing "Oh Canada" while driving to Office. People noticed me adding "eh" to every sentence since last evening
Sorry i had a terribly long week at work. Well, looks like i'm a little late for the party =P.... in any case, congratulations!!! =D hope your landing process goes as smoothly as possible (please, let us know). I think I speak for many when I say that you were/are a great member of the forum always helping people in anyway possible, and i'm glad to see you finally had some good news.
I'm sorry to see that processing times have gone up one month again (that's twice this year they did that), and that many of you feel frustrated. I wish i had a simple answer to make you all feel better. =/
As a short answer to some of the posts from the previous days....no, I do not think Quebec is really concerned about immigrants.... not in a "friendly" way at least (maybe only in limiting it to a minimum). I sincerely doubt they will ever go with Express Entry, as that would mean that they would be treated as other provinces, and that possibly other potential immigrants would come to the province. Their main objective is to limit incoming immigrants to those they consider "acceptable" for the province... if for that to happen the federal stage takes longer, then so be it (in their perspective), for them it is more important to feel they have control over who comes (by granting the CSQ). Add to that the fact that many outland applicants actually wait years for their CSQ, as well as just how hard it is in many cases for foreigners to have academic qualifications recognized to have access to regulated professions and the end result is very frustrating for applicants. Don't get me wrong, I love living in MTL and like many aspects of quebecois culture, but i don't kid myself: the province of quebec does nothing to ease immigration, including before and after they settle in the province. It is an attitude of "you don't like the system? go elsewhere".
I mean... 30,000 economic applicants per year in a province of 8,000,000 people? that is less than half a percent! =(
If anyone else feels like writing a letter to their MPs as well, go ahead. Who knows.... maybe with enough people, maybe CIC could bring MIDI back to the table to negotiate a new immigration deal.
I stand by my previous posts and simply hope and wish that at some point in the near future CIC will unblock many applications and start moving faster.
Best wishes for everyone, and good luck!
Congrats
