Decided to do the landing last night, but got home too late for a reply. All good, we're now officially, landed immigrants :)
Took us maybe 20 minutes, just like with @Smearingo. Only question not on the book was: why are you here so late?
Bank statement was enough for proof of funds. Nothing else different than the rest of your experiences.
Now for the good life! Thanks guys! Those were amazing days and anticipation!

Just coming back home as Permanent residents, with the new SIN and Approved RAMQ from April 1st
We are happy and exhausted, is not easy do everything in one day with two small kids, but we did it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I'll share the details later... but I just want to say THANKS for all the support :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Congratulations!! And congratulations to all others who were anxiously awaiting the CoPR. I sincerely thank you for all the time you have spent in the forum, sharing your stories and helping others. And yes! I totally agree that we need to do what we can to keep the forum going. I, for one have found it ver useful to be able to relate to other people going through the same obstacles. I have not posted much things recently, because sadly there have been no developments to share =/

Congratulations again and I wish the best as newly landed immigrants!

Hi Cherish,

Congratzzz can you confirm your VO????

My timeline

CSq: April 27th 2016
Federal delivered: July 5th
Federal Reception: July 11th by Mike
Aor: November 15th, 2016
Start processing: December 12, 2017
Medical request: December 22nd, 2016
Medical done: December 23rd, 2016
Passport request: January 25th, 2017

Yes! please confirm. I see on your profile info you marked VO Montreal, but on the google docs spreadsheet you appear in the Mexico VO page. Most stories from Mexico City VO are quite positive and talk about very fast processing times. I am so jealous, despite being mexican i am an inland applicant and will most likely wait much longer for CoPR hehehe.

Congratulations and best of luck!

Guys, for those of you who did the landing recently: have they the immigration kept your work permits? I'm organizing my documents and realized that I don't have the work permits with me. I think they've kept it - which would make sense - but wanted to check if that's the case.

Hi Everyone,

To better facilitate communication among us all and to chat in a better way, I created a Slack channel just for this purpose.

Here is the invite link:

https://qswfederalstage.slack.com/shared_invite/MTMzMzMzNTExNjUzLTE0ODU0ODU3OTQtNzA5ODQzMDEyNg

Just click on the above link and register yourself with a username (preferably the same username you use here in the forum) and we can all chat + ask our questions in real time !

I don't know if this sounds like a good idea to you all, but let's try it. :)

Cheers

yes they keep it (of coz!). You could not retain the WP as once you became PR, all your earlier statuses as temporary resident, including all Study/Work Permit, and even the eTA, will be invalidated. (That's why with the passport alone, even if you are from visa-exempt country, under the new rule when eTA was introduced, a PR can only travel back in Canada with PR card)

and importantly, you should still keep the CSQ, they dun need it--and i think it is important to keep it alongside the CoPR.

congrats again @marcomcarneiro and @alemom, it has been great knowing you here in this forum.
(I haven't done SIN and RMAQ yet btw, I think I need a full day-off for those -- possibly early next week). Apart from these two, anything else we should update / do after landing?

Hello guys,

I submitted my application on September 26 2016 and it was received on October 2 2016. I linked my application to my CIC account on Jan 18 2017. I had a reference number starting with X..... then.

Today, the number changed to the one starting with E..... Is this means I got my AOR :o. Since I am processing through a lawyer, I guess I will not receive the AOR by email.

Please confirm guys. My profile status is showing

Application/profile status Open
Review of eligibility Review in Progress
Review of medical results Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents
Scheduling an interview Not needed at this time
A background check is needed In Progress
Final decision Not Started

Yes. Its AOR. Sydney office is currently sending out AOR for applications that were submitted in first week of Oct. Another forum member received AOR today for application that was submitted on 5th Oct. Please update this spreadsheet: http://tinyurl.com/qsw-timelines

Thanks @Smearingo! I've done SIN a few times in the past, never took me more than 30 mins. Perhaps the first one took a little longer, but I don't recall it being. Last time I did it here in Brossard and it was 10 minutes, it was empty. I think there's more than one Services Canada around and you can go to any of them. Haven't done it with the PR yet, though. Hopefully nothing changes procedural-wise, and it will take th esame time.
I have asked friends the same question about the after landing. Only thing they say is SIN/RAMQ (or the federal health care if you're out of Quebec) and notifying your employer if you're working.

Guys, this is a small gift to all of us. I got the ticket last week, so it's real. If you want to visit parks, this will grant you and your families access to a lot of paid parks in Canada, all for free :)

The link is long but is correct, is from the Canadian government:
https://www.commandesparcs-parksorders.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?expDataType=MarketingContent&ddkey=http%3AClickInfo&mpe_id=20009&catalogId=53407&categoryId=216870&productId=524527&expDataUniqueID=46709&evtype=CpgnClick&intv_id=0&langId=-2&currency=CAD&storeId=22953&utm_source=parkshome&utm_medium=feature_fr&utm_campaign=C150_admission

Happy visits!

Will they automatically give you a new SIN number as you land?
And what are the paperwork needed for RAMQ?
