I am the same stage. Guys lets help each other in understanding and find the best route possible. Here is my take. After getting PR, I will get married and return to canada for a brief period and apply for spouse PR and I will go back to my country and return whenever required. Can I do this and what is the processing time for this and can i do this in first place, I mean, Can I leave outside canada after getting PR and sponsoring wife for PR. Will she be an inland applicant or outland applicant because I see there is difference in processing time. Guys please voice your opinions, specially the ones sailing in same boat. I can create a whats app group if necessary so that we can guide each other for the best possible solution. Btw I am looking for a potential match in Canada itself so that I dont have to go through sponsorship process, but never know whats in store in life

During sponsorship you have to stay in Canada. So, you can get married after getting PR, but if your wife didn't get a VISA, then you (you and your wife) would have to stay apart until she gets her PR. You can go for a brief time (I guess) and visit your wife during sponsorship though.

Finding a match in Canada is the best option regarding papers, but I'm not sure it's easy to find a match in first place. For me all options are open for consideration.

Hi, need advice here pls... I got my AOR last 19 August but I just received an email that I need to go for an interview. Did any of you went through an interview during PR application? Thank you and your advice is highly appreciated.

I remember reading about a member who lived in Australia and had to attend an interview. I think it depends on you visa office.

You probably right. finding a match in Canada is not easy, but again (unless you have prior arrangements) where is easy? from my point of view, all our options are equally difficult? but again I am still stuck waiting for my process to be over while you are in Canada right now. what is your experience ? We really need your advice.

Thank you Hanzmolar ... my visa office is Nova Scota but it was London visa office who requested the interview. I am currently residing here at London. Does the interview mean something's wrong with my application ? Just got worried...

No, nothing to worry about. The guy I told you about was residing in Australia. I think it is a normal procedure to conduct an interview with applicants residing in places such as Australia and the U.K. They want to be sure that you intend to live in Quebec.

Thanks again Hanzmolar for your comforting words... hope everything would be all fine for all of us... how far is your application now?

Ok. what if you applied from overseas like me, I am 32 years old now and I am not married. I didn't because I thought it might mess up my immigration processing. I was planning to settle down after I get my PR. Do you think that this postponement is wise? And what if I got married while I am still in process? What would happen?

I could not get it why many postpone life decisions for PR. Well, you have alrady got CSQ, so you have no issue to add your spouse has NON-ACCOMPANYING member in your federal applicaiton. Personally, I did in this way. You can apply for her visitor visa to bring her with you. Many married adnd have baby during the process too, so you guys questions make me feel strange though. Anyway, I did in this way, so up to you guys.

If you want to sponsor your wife PR, you must live inside Canda until she gets PR. Well, if you are Canadian citizen, you can sposor your wife while you live outside Canada.

Will it depend on what you come from and depending on that, What is your VO. & processing time, also there is the question of your capability to support your family financially & also there is the question of coping with & integration (at least from Family sponsorship officer point view), also some of us (including me) been (and some still are) very busy and stressed out about the outcome of this processing. that they didn't actually pay attention to the search for love & settling.

I been told that they ease the processing of family sponsorship program, but I didn't know anyone whom tried that program recently. how it's going with you? I am very interested in hearing about your experience.

Hi Oklim12,

How long did it get for them to request your passports from date of medical if they have already requested the passports.

Let me know.

Cheers.

There is no problem, you just have to wait. I sent my files on november 2015 and received my aor on march 2016. So for june, you should received it this month or the following one, expect 3 to 4 month for AOR theses day, and another 3 to 4 months for medical request.

This is a very sensitive issue. I know a handful other folks in same scenario. I am a glaring example.
I got a baby with my gf during the CSQ stage, and updated MICC as non accompanying. I got my csq last year and filed for federal though still waiting for MR.
I plan on landing and coming back home for marriage and subsequent sponsorship.
I had so many reasons not to get married during processing as I intended to land alone, and see what life holds for me in Quebec. Couldn't think better.
I bet it is kinda hard decision to make but it is always great to consider many options.
From a few sources I learned that sponsorship from within Quebec, of a spouse/kid isn't that complicated and averages a year for processing. I wish it really doesn't take more than that time because I can't even cope staying a month or two away from those two. Its kinda personal but I think sharing this is quite relieving.
I pray we get the PRs asap and continue with our lives smoothly.

Happy Sunday and Eid Mubarak to my fellow Muslims in the house.

Dear All,
Very happy EID Mubarak.
May Allah help us for our journey.
