Amazing news!
Do you know where can I find specific details about it? I tried googling it, but since it is fresh, nothing really useful came up

Seems there comes good news for all who intend to apply for citizenship in Canada
The new immigration rules will bring mandatory time of stay for citizenship back to 3 years
There are also negotiations underway to give studets back their 50% credit which means mainly one year bonus for citizenship!!

Specific details are here:

Thanks Sarir11 and Luc22. Hopefully, we are through. So, the next would be passport request... or is there any other step inbetween?

In case you have paid your PR fee (490CAD) the next step is PPR
They usually ask you that a while after Med Request

I submitted my PCCs and paid the RPRF fees. Will these appear on my ECAS?

I submitted PCC after medicals. My ECAS shows only Medicals Received and another line Request of other doc. (PCC).
After submited PCC , no other line.

Are you a student Sarir? Have you lived in many countries before coming here? I guess all these factors may affect the processing time.

I received mine a month ago
maybe you should call the cic help centre and check what the delay is for

yes i have sent documents from montreal.

Still no AOR on your end? We sent our docs on Nov 4th from Montreal and they received it on Nov 6th... and we're still waiting on AOR. Really nervous about it since her study permit was expired when we sent the documents and we forgot to switch it out and replace it with her work permit... her application was sent back to us once and we hope it won't happen again due to that mistake :(

How long did it take to update the ECAS for the MR?

I finished my studies in June
And i did not live in any country other than my home country more than 6 months
It affects your police check as they will ask you to provide PCC from each country u have bern in more than six months
This is criminality check. As well it may linger the security check I guess

Hi,

I heard processing time for a Permanent Residence Application is 8 to 9 months but as per CIC web site, application processing time for a new PR Card is 39 days. What does it mean… I think the 39 days is the time between temporary visa and new PR Card. Please suggest...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

I'd really appreciate your comments…

Thanks,
Ajish

Yes, any thoughts on this. CIC changed the processing times AGAIN and it says 39 days after receiving a complete application package.

PR card is when you are done with the PR process and arr waiting for your card
Therefore it is 8-9 months + 39 days to get approved and receive your card
