Hi Leinadaniel
yes appointment is required not like Ottawa (walk - in) . I will call CIC tomorrow to check on the waiting time , if it is more than 10 days, i will go to the border to Lacolle for flag-polling..

Luc, tell me something, if the Ottawa office does the landing process to "walk-ins", wouldn't that be a possibility for you (or the rest of us)?
I mean, as QSW, do we have jurisdiction to land in Ottawa? Or does it have to be only the Montreal office for us?

If you happen to know, please share.

Hi,

I heard processing time for a Permanent Residence Application is 8 to 9 months but as per CIC web site, application processing time for a new PR Card is 39 days. What does it mean… I think the 39 days is the time between temporary visa and new PR Card. Please suggest...

I'd really appreciate your comments…

Thanks,
Ajish

Good day,

I received the passport request however they did not ask for any pictures. Is this okay?
Should I still send pictures even though they did not request them.

Better to send them just in case, and make sure they meet specifications.

Check the section that says photograph requirements: http://www.cic.gc.ca/ENGLISH/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#5445E5

i am going to do that
thank you so much for your advice.

Hi Leinadaniel
If you applied under QSW or any other provincial category/program you must land in that specific province ... even on the CoPR it is clearly mentioned (city of destination) where you are meant to land first ...
For the appointment waiting time, called CIC just now, the agent told me that someone will contact me in 2 weeks to give me a an appointment date and it can be in another 2 weeks +/- couple of days... so the quickest option is to go to the border , CIC will send me an email with all information concerning landing at the border...

Congratulations Luc! It must feel good :)
Mine, it's been 15 days already, but I forgot to send the return envelope with my passport, which I sent the day after.
Not sure this will delay things.

Amazing news!
Do you know where can I find specific details about it? I tried googling it, but since it is fresh, nothing really useful came up

Hi Dear ALL,
I just found this morning that the application fee was deducted from my credit card. Good news!

Does this mean CIC has finished the first step of checking/ examination the documents and they have decided to send the application to visa office ? I will receive the AOR letter soon?

Or this just means CIC begins now the checking/ examination of the documents ?? I still have to waitl several weeks or months to receive the AOR ?

Please advise.

Thanks disBrew,
you will have your CoPR in few days,, i don't think the delay from your side in sending the return envelope by 1 day will result in long delay from CIC, it is a matter of just 1 or 2 days..
