yes it's me. but no, i haven't got good news yet. I sent my passport photocopy in the evening of January 5, the package should have arrived in CIC Ottawa office on January 9, but the status has always been "out for delivery".
I just performed some google search in this forum. This time, I found this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-long-does-it-take-cppo-to-stamp-pr-visas-t134889.3240.html
Someone suggested that "If your Canada post status is not "fully green" - (or in other words "delivered") when you send your passport dont worry, I called Canada post they told me since CPPO receives big volume of mail, they don't scan all packages and that's why you don't see the bar being completed."
In that same reply, the forum member also indicated that their status had been "ready for pick up" (a status @alemom got in her tracking record). So I take it to believe that "out for delivery", "ready for pick up" should both be fine if the expected delivery time has long been passed. Many of our envelopes were not scanned when they arrived that end in Ottawa.
And, in another post, people discussed this same topic too (but outside QSW programme): http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/sent-passports-to-ottawa-after-ppr-in-september-t349754.105.html If we pay attention to members' shared timelines, it seems sometimes it can take up to 3 weeks between PPR and CoPR :-X
See for instance ciscotao's timeline (their application was under FSW programme):
Passport Req..: 01-10-2015
VISA ISSUED...: 21-10-2015
mrazzak's (same thread, another page) is:
Passport Req..: 05-10-2015
VISA ISSUED...: 20-10-2015
And, if we read the details in this thread, they actually mentioned that between PPR and CoPR, we could see updates on MyCIC (our file will change from "open" to "closed", all other outstanding statuses will be finalized at the same time.)
I hope it's coming soon for all of us.
a final note on CanadaPost: I can think of no reason to justify why they could choose not to scan all envelopes. But, don't worry. I believe they will receive their karma. I for one would never choose CanadaPost for courrier service or expedited mail unless the receiver specifically demands that I send by CanadaPost. FedEx, UPS, Purolator, etc (you name it), are all better and more reliable.
