Hi,

I would like to see if anyone knows a rough estimate of how long it takes to get passport request, after the medical results have been received.

Here is my current timeline:

CSQ was received in July of 2015.
Federal Stage:
Visa Office......: Sydney NS, then sent to Ottawa Processing Centre
App. Filed.......: September 9, 2015
AOR Received.: December 23, 2015
File Transfer...: December 24, 2015 (started visa processing)
Med's Request..: February 9, 2015
Med's Received: February 29, 2015 (shown as "Medical results have been received" in the online tool)
RPRF..............: Paid Upfront when App. Filed.
Passport Req..: TBD
VISA ISSUED...: TBD

In my case the medical request came one day and the passport request came the very next day. I am not sure why in some cases they wait for the medicals and request the passport after and in other cases the passport request comes almost the same time as the medical.

I just have one tough question:
My passport will expire in Jan. 2017, and I will certainly need to renew for another one.

However, I just finished the medical exam end of march 2016. It shows now on eCAS that CIC received medical results. I am still waiting for the landing fee request and then the PPR. It may arrive at any time between May 2016 and Jan. 2017.

If the PPR arrives later than June 2016, it remains only 6 months' validity for my passport. I heard that the CIC would require more than 12 months' validity for passport when they need it for issuing visa. Is this true ?

If I renew my passport right away (it would take 2 months to get the new passport), should I report this to CIC as a change of stauts ? If I renew my passport, should I keep the old one for a proof ?

Anybody has experienced the same situation ?

I need your advice on this.

Since you all got your CSQs, I guess you all speak good french or fluent french.

Can anyone share their CSQ interview experience, I want to know, if someone of low level A2 in french can get CSQ or not?
I want to know, if you can speak to the interviewer in English and can get CSQ?

Fortunately, my interview was waived. However, my friends who had their interviews here in Cebu, Philippines said that the interview was not that hard. Your 'basic' French will be tested. Be ready to answer questions like "Comment allez-vous?", and the more you speak French, the more the interviewer will speak French. You can use English on the more important aspects of the interview, such as your plans when you get to Quebec, whichever is more comfortable to you. My 2 friends got their CSQ after.

Hi Anyone! Good day! Can anyone help me by sharing experience. I am a QSW applicang with my family. We sent our passport last March 3 to abu dhabi, til now no news yet. I am very very worried, our agency sent pur passports without airway return bill as this does not apply to international. Our passports are from philippines. Can anyone please help by enlighting us with this situation. Is abu dhabi vo will contact us for the return or aramex will deliver then to be paid here in the philippines? Please please help us. I'm a student in Montreal and applied for my CSQ two weeks before. I'm wondering if I can go to US for two years after receiving my CSQ in Montreal and apply for the federal stage from there?

I filed for CSQ in March 2014 and received an acknowledgement in June 2014 that they application has been received.

Have not heard back since then. we are two friends and filed together by engaging a consultant.

Now we are getting impatient since we have no idea of what is going on. Can you please help.
