I have all that is required already, but do I need to notify them, or all the correspondence is via email and hence it is not necessary?
Thanks
I did a bit of research and could not find any legal citing for an obligation to notify CIC for change of address in case leaving Canada
Temporarily while PR is in process. If you ask for change of address which is outside of Canada, they might think you are moving out of Canada permanently until your Permanent residence application is approved. In that case, they might transfer your file to the local VO of your destination for the remainder of your processing.
Having said that, in matters such as these, its always better to get information from as many sources as possible. So its best to call CIC as well explaining your situation. But in your call, do emphasize that you plan to leave Canada
Temporarily and that you have valid permit and multiple entry visa and you intend to return within that time frame.
Also if you leave without a job, and if you are unlucky enough to run into a grumpy VO upon entry, he might ask you for proof of funds for your temporary stay and also some sort of proof that you will leave Canada if your application for Permanent residence is rejected for some reason. So best is not to let him know you have an application in process, unless of course if he asks.
Also if you do decide to leave, then make sure someone checks your mail regularly, in case they do send something through regular mail.
