Thanks!

The MICC is quite fast.

I received a letter from the CIC around June 6th (by mail; the letter was dated June 4) saying that they received the application in Vegreville and that because we live in Quebec, the next step was to submit the undertaking and the CSQ application to the MICC. (I am the sponsor; my boyfriend is the applicant)

So we filled out the forms and we sent them to the MICC (including the letter received from CIC acknowledging the receipt of our application) in Montreal and about two weeks later (a little after St-Jean day), we received a letter dated June 20 saying that the undertaking was accepted and my boyfriend got the CSQ at the same time (all in the same envelope).

So in all it was about a 2-3 week process :)

Perkele: So they send you (the sponsor) a letter after they received the first part of your sponsorship application right--how long since you sent the application did it take to receive that letter? I was under the impression you had to wait until you were aproved as a sponsor before you can send that application! This is great news! =)

If you want, check this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/2012-quebec-inland-applicants-t98657.0.html

We actually had this whole discussion yesterday as to whether or not it meant that you were approved when you receive a letter from CIC telling you to proceed with the MICC.

I'm not really sure what your question is.

But here is how it happened.

The application was sent on February 14, 2012. (We tracked it and it was received and signed in Vegreville on the 15th).

On the May 31st, so 3.5 months later, I received an acknowledgement email from the CIC saying that they received the application on the 15th of February. I was able to access ecas a few days later in June. At that point, ecas said that they started processing on the 30th of May.

That was all I got until around June 6th when I got the CIC letter telling me to send the undertaking and CSQ application to the MICC.

Now, I am just (im)patiently waiting for AIP which shouldn't be for another 5 months...

Was that helpful?

Very recent info: I received my CSQ yesterday, after having the forms dropped off in person on Monday, August 6. So a good 3 weeks for me.

Do you happen to know when they charged your credit card? Trying to figure out how long it will take them to approve it once they start working on it.

They received my docs on Aug 28 and charged my cc today (Sept 5) around 9am. I called them and was told that it means that they have started processing my file.

Give it a week for processing and a few days to receive it. It doesn't last more than 3 weeks. (we were denied the first time, and after appealing they gave an answer again in 3 weeks)

Does anyone have experience with outland applications? I am interested in finding out how much time it will take for CSQ to be approved for outland applications.

Hi Zaara:

If that's true, it's way more than anyone can ask for.

Where would your outland application be processed (post CSQ) and how much time are you looking at?

My VO is Pretoria and the processing time as posted on CIC website is 15 months :( What about yours? Hope its a lesser timeline!

I am in the United States but my job ends in March 2016. The wait times are even longer in the US. The best bet is to find a job in Canada and move there while the outland application is processing. I don't know how governments expect for marriages to survive for years in isolation.
