I need help please, I have applied for CSQ under PEQ and I got refuse because I have CAQ for doctorate program, and what it happens that I had transferred from doctorate to master without applying for a new CAQ so wh
at should I Please advice

As you now know, you should have applied for a new CAQ when you changed programme.

I have no idea whether this can be done retroactively, or not. I suggest you contact the international student advisor at your place of study, &/or MIDI to ask how to proceed.

Once you have sorted that problem, I suspect you will have to make a new application for PEQ; *but* I am NOT an expert.

Good luck.

Hi All,

I also plan to apply to PEQ program, and currently I am dealing with my Tefaq test. I got B2 for my speaking test, and B1 listening test in the session in February. I have taken my listening tests again in May and July, however I still got B1, and not B2.

I have read in several websites that I have to wait for at least 2 month to take a test again, but in my case I will just summit to the government my successful test result which is the speaking result in February and the listening result in next coming session when I get B2. I would like to fasten the process by taking the listening test in next 2 weeks (in august) and not 2 months. I am not sure whether its acceptable by the government or not since in theory its less than 2 months between my previous session on July 16 to a new session on August 1; but when I submit to them it would seem as acceptable between my session in February and my new session in August ? I don't know how the government would evaluate the valid of the test results ?

Can you guys give me opinions for my case ? I really appreciate it.

Hi, I know that for the PEQ you should submit both results for the speaking and listening together (same certificate), but maybe this has changed. But the good news is that if you do not submit any results to the government, you do not have to wait for two months to retake the test.

I recommend that you take both tests ASAP, and not take the risk of submitting 2 different results.

As I understand it, you must submit *all* the required documents at the same time, or risk your application being returned as incomplete (QC seems to be getting stricter about this).

Where are you reading that you need to wait 2 months between tests? Is that a TEFAQ requirement or an Immigration Quebec one?

Hi everyone,

My journey has finally reached its end! I did my landing today at the Highgate Springs / St. Armand border crossing. The process was very fast and smooth. It took less than 10 minutes.

This is the timeline of the last phase:
PPR: Evening of Friday July 3.
Passport deposited at Canada Post: Saturday, July 4.
Passport shipped from Montreal: Monday, July 6.
Passport received at CIC: Tuesday, July 7
Visa issued: Wednesday, July 08
Passport sent from CIC: Tuesday July 14
Passport delivered to my house: Wednesday July 15
Landing: Saturday, July 18

At the border, the agent asked for COPR (both copies) and he had a look at the CSQ then gave it back to me. I asked him if he wants the photocopies of my old study permits, he asked me if I have the original ones, I told him that one of them was taken once by a border agent, and that the other one I dont have it, so he told me okay, and took the photocopies then proceeded to remove my work permit off my passport and he scratched all my Canadian visas.

Then he asked me if any of my conditions changed since receiving the COPR, so I told him no, so he asked specifically if I am still single or got married, told him still single. Then he asked me if I have a job, I told him yes so he asked me what my job was so I replied with the position and the company name. I guess that's why he didn't ask about my bank account or whether I have a certain amount of money (since he now knew that I have a job). Then he asked me to read the COPR and make sure all the details are okay, so I did. Then asked me to sign my initials under the sentence that states that I declare that I have committed no crimes. I did. Then he asked to sign both COPR copies and he did the same. He then congratulated on becoming PR.

Next, he asked me if I knew my obligations as PR. I told him I know that I need to stay 2 out of 5 years to maintain my PR status, and 4 out of 6 for citizenship. He told me yes and added that, in each of these 4 years, I need to stay at least 6 months. So I told him I'm also aware of that. He then told me that I need to change my SIN and health card. And then told me that his colleague will now continue with me. The lady asked me if I have any goods to ship from my home country, so I told her no, so she asked me to sign a paper to confirm that. And then she congratulated me in her turn on becoming permanent resident of Canada. I thanked her and left! :D

I wanna thank everyone for their help and support. You guys were really helpful and made it easier. I hope you all get your PPRs very soon! :)

All the best! :) :)

Hi, thank you for your respond. I didnt summit any result to the government yet. I will submit both speaking and listening result to the government at the same time when I can get b2 for listening test. I just meant in my post that my listening test and speaking test were not taken in the same day, I have individual certificate for each test. So then, I will take listening test again when I feel ready and dont need to wait for 2 months :) its clear for me now

Could be late but better than never.

I have been exactly in your position before just that i got B2 for listening and B1 for speaking... (i know). I asked the same question here but there was no answer (you can look 5 to 7 pages back). I called immigration quebec and got the answer that I must present two B2 result on the same certificate same date for both tests (I had two results on two different certificates as well. Same story B2 B1 first time on two different certificate, retook and upgrade the B1 to B2, went to notre dame to deposit, called in while parking downstair just to make sure, decided to go back and register for both again). Long story short I got misinformed by the reception at the test center and wasted a few months to register and get the result.

So my only advice is to proceed carefully. I weighed my options and decide to wait for the next test instead of risking two months refusal notice (then if you cant provide the result in two months you will have to wait years to go the long road PEQ is one time only). Sure enough I passed that time so good luck and post your update to help out the others.

PEQ is not one time only. You can re apply for PEQ as many times as you want. It's just additional $750 each time so it gets expensive. My PEQ was rejected first time I applied since I applied with a school certificate and the level wasn't high enough. I applied after 2 weeks with certificate of the next level and this time my certificate was accepted and I got my PEQ.

Hi there!
me too I called immigration concerning French test as I had 2 different certificates and they told me that you are allowed to present two different certificates!

After receiving the CSQ (under PEQ)

Hi,
I am new in this forum and really need your help.
I applied for CSQ under the PEQ program and currently holding a temporary work permit that will expire in September.
I looked everywhere in the immigration website but I got very confused.
After receiving the CSQ what should I do to renew my work permit? I know I am LMO exempted, but which are the forms do I have to fill in? Can someone provide me with a link?
Do I have to deposit a permanent resident application before asking for a new work permit?
Thank you for your precious help
