It seems they're really plowing through those July 2013 applicants (September 2013 AORs) right about now. Remaining July applicants should be coming up very soon.

I just received an email saying that "Your file has been transferred to the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa for further review." Does that mean there's a problem? Am I about to be refused? Or am I being paranoid and this is standard procedure?

That's normal

All permanent residence applications are submitted to CIO-Sydney, but are subsequently transferred to a visa office for the actual review process. The visa office can be a Canadian consulate or embassy abroad - or in our case, CPP-Ottawa. The fact that your file has been transferred there just shows everything is running smoothly.

Hi guys,

Congratulations to everyone!!!

I never received an message informing me my file had been sent to Ottawa- however, two weeks ago when Was asked to pay the RTPR it seemed the e-mail came from Ottawa... I am right to assume my file has been transferred there, right?

Also, may I ask something? To the people who have gotten it so far, is your citizenship from a visa-exempt country? Or from countries with passports that require a visa for most countries? (Sorry about the huge political incorrectness, but as it is common knowledge, some citizenships are more welcome than others when travelling and migrating -not necessarily for Canada- but several countries request lenghty background and economical checks even when requesting a visitor visa)

I am only asking this as I have been told by some people that citizenships do get preferential treatment i.e. it takes less for someome with a European Passport than someome with a South American one)

I have a South American citizenship, so I'm not sure that theory is valid. Then again, I've been in Canada since I was 14 (I'm 23 now), and just to be safe, I sent all sorts of police certificates from my home country along with my application (even though officially they would only have to perform background checks in Canada, since it's the only country I've lived in since turning 18).

I'm from a visa exempt country (new zealand), single and been here since I was 19 (i'm 23 now), so no I don't think there's any preferential treatment. Although it does seem that if you are a male it takes a longer time.

OMG!! SO HAPPY! DM on my application! finally.. Best of luck to everyone. I was about to go crazy.
