If you are seriously interested in investor visa, I can provide you with a far better option than Canada's Investor program, however amount is significantly higher (around USD 3 million). It's a UK Tier 1 Investor Visa. Processing time only takes around 3 weeks and you only need to transfer money AFTER you get your visa and land in UK. Unlike US's EB-5 Immigrant Investor visa, you do not have to create 10 jobs. You can basically do anything (work, study, business, do nothing, up to you!)
Timeline is like that:
i) 3 Years + 4 months of Investor visa
ii) Permanent Residence (also known as ILR)
iii) UK Citizenship (eligible after 1 year of PR)
However, Canada is the only country who gives PR upon landing. Others have probationary visa period to qualify for PR.
