Dear yogie,

I am planning to apply for QSW. Can you please calculate the points for me and also suggest if I need to take french level test, if so then what will be the level that I have to sit for.

I am post graduate (Masters from university of Delhi) - 12
no training falls under point system of Quebec - 0
I am 34 years and 3 months old. - 16
My experience is over 11 years. - 8
Language ability I have scored 6.5 band in ielts (Is it mandatory to furnish ielts score to claim maximum points under qsw) - ? (if it is 7 in Speaking and 6.5 in Listening then it is 6/6 points)
No relatives in Quebec - 0
My husband is 37 years old and he is running his own business of Heavy engineering, He is Higher secondary. (What level of french he has to sit for as he is also planning to take french classes) also suggest on what scale his french level will be assessed for maximum points.
- 2+1=3 ,You and your husband can join classes for French and sit for the DELF A1 from Alliance Francaise.
Level Principal Applicant Spouse
(points) (points)
DELF A1 2 2
DELF A2 6 2
DELF B1 8 4
DELF B2 12 4
DELF C1 16 6
DELF C2 16 6

We have one child of six and half years old.- 4
We have sufficient funds for QSW and as well as for federal apart from some properties in the joint names. - 1
On what grounds visa officer gives points for adaptability factor and how the one can achieve maximum one. - Max. 6 points will be given at the time of interview by the visa officer. For that the Visa officer evaluates your capacity to settle successfully in Québec and will ask you questions to assess the feasibility of your immigration plans. This evaluation primarily focuses on your knowledge of Québec, the steps you have taken and your personal suitability. The latter two aspects are assessed on the basis of your professional activities

So here your total point score is 12+0+16+8+6(if we take max. in english)+0+3+4+1=50, but in order to qualify you must atleast reach to score of 57 , So I suggest you and husband, to clear DELF A2 or B1 by you and DELF A1 or A2 by your husband.

Looking forward for your reply on above.

Well, I am not sure but some poeple on this forum who took TEFAQ tells that TEFAQ is easier than DELF but in India, the Alliance Francaise only organize DELF and TEF test and not the TEFAQ.So you can take any of these two test.
How much time will be needed to complete each level of delf or tefaq..? You can find more info abt. the duration of DELF Class from the following link...

Looking forward for your reply.

@ satishpari ,

Your agent is partially right that IELTS in not must for claiming points for CSQ but in the absence of IELTS you must have to prove/show them(BIQ) that you have completed your degree/diploma/schooling in English medium in order to get that points for English Language factor.

regards,

Yogie
Yogie I have a couple of more queries.
1. What are the documents we need to attach when the application is filed? (is there any checklist)
2. Can I provide my passport copy as proof of age rather than my birth certificate (since my birth certificate is in my local language)
3. If selected, how long must I reside in quebec before moving out permanently to another part of canada?

1. What are the documents we need to attach when the application is filed? (is there any checklist) - Refer the following link...

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/biq/hong-kong/dcs-workers/list-documents.html

2. Can I provide my passport copy as proof of age rather than my birth certificate (since my birth certificate is in my local language)-
However your passport copy or school leaving certificate might be consider for age proof but for that you will require to give them
explanation that why you are not able to submit the Birth Certificate, so it would be wiser to send the Certified Translated copy of
your Birth Certificate.

3. If selected, how long must I reside in quebec before moving out permanently to another part of canada?- Here I would like to quote the reply
from one of our esteemed forum member "Donsoft"--- Technically speaking, you are expected to make Quebec your permananent home and that is the essence of filling IMM 008 (Declaration of intent to reside in Quebec) or so when applying for your PR. This does not mean that you cannot move around Canada, of course you can visit other parts of Canada but you are not expected to reside outside Quebec. You are not expected to move to another province as you were specifically selected by Quebec to work and pay taxes in their province to help in the further development of the province. If for any reason they doubt your intentions to reside in Quebec, the CSQ will not issued to you in the first place. Applying for a CSQ automatically means that you have an intention to stay in Quebec and that is it. The risk of moving to another province is that you may likely have issues obtaining Citizenship when the time comes usually after three years. However, you can move to any other province of your choice once you become a Canadian Citizen

@ satishpari,

regarding your question no.3,

I would like to share this piece of info with you...
Since you are submitting [blue]schedule 5[/blue] along with your application for QSW, so it legally abides you to make quebec your permanent residence.

Yes, being Permanent Resident of Canada, you have right to move to any province,
but handle this part very cautiously.... because you can do it ...that too after you have tried enough to get settle in Quebec, and after all your efforts, you could not....

then only you can move to other provinces...
but make it sure, if you get into any kind of inquiry by officials regarding your movement to other provinces, then better you should be ready with all proofs of your efforts to get settle in quebec... such as applications to employers and such....

Anyways, I have heard so much from my forum members who have already landed in quebec and they say: why would anyone leave quebec... it is very beautiful, also you have plenty of employment offers here compared to other parts of canada... and also people are very nice... it is just that you need to know french a little bit...!

I hope I am not sounding any harsh here, I am just sharing info, which I read on many posts over this forum.

[blue]bon chance[/blue]
