my ecas status still shows application received, with just only one line "We received your application for permanent residence on October 2, 2014." i did medical 20Feb and result sent on the same month, do you know what's the problem?

it usually takes 2 to 4 weeks for the medical to get updated. It also depends on the doctor you went to, how he sends it to CIC and when CIC finds time to flag off your medicals. It is touch and go usually. So keep your fingers crossed my friend.

I applied from the USA, my application was received on 31th March 2014

Hi Dounia,

If I understand correctly you currently live in the USA, and that's why they asked you for a new police clearance. I am pretty certain that CIC asks for a police clearance from the country you live in currently right before they issue your visa (hence the 3-month validity). On the other hand, if you submit a police clearance for a country you lived in, in the past, they don't really care if it's recent (generally it's valid up to 1 year). I know a lot of people who had a similar situation as you. I hope this clarifies it a bit.

Hi! Are there other Quebec applicants here that have their permanent residence application processed at visa office in London?

Hi I have question regarding CSQ expiry date.

1. Does CSQ have any date of expiration?
2. Is it must that after getting CSQ through PEQ one has to apply to federal, if the person changes his mind and go for other option like PNP or express entry so is there would be a problem?
3. After getting CSQ, how much time limit we have to apply for PR to Federal?

Thanks !!

1. Does CSQ have any date of expiration? yes it has sometimes 2 sometimes 3 years
2. Is it must that after getting CSQ through PEQ one has to apply to federal, if the person changes his mind and go for other option like PNP or express entry so is there would be a problem? why you would change your mind after getting CSQ unless you have enough free time and money to redo process again
3. After getting CSQ, how much time limit we have to apply for PR to Federal? it think should be within CSQ expiry date

Thanks !!

If you decide to move to another province, you can always re-start the process from the beginning, that is, to not apply to PR as a QC resident. If you do so however, they might give you trouble for leaving the province and not settling there (even before getting the PR).

You can always check the tracker to see if anyone has a similar timeline. If you have not entered your information, please do, it helps everybody. The tracker has a tab which shows people with similar timelines to yours.

This tracker is a great idea. Thanks! Could you share it at the "Quebec applicants let's share experiences" thread? I tried to do it but for some reason I'm not allowed to share links here.

Hi Hossam,

You'd have to wait a LONG time to see any new update. You might get an update (that your application was put in process at a certain date) and you might never get that update. If you do get it, from what I've been seeing from other people, I would say it's not going to be before 5-7 months from the day you received your last update (medical results received). I've been waiting since Mid-October when I got my "medical results received" update and since then, nothing! So I would say you'd have to be patient... possibly a lot! :P

Hi Jad, Dounia...how are you? any luck with pr application moving?
Yesterday I got email to pay RPRF fee, I did pay.
I had one question--that means they are ok with my police certificate from my country because it ll be one year old in beginning of june.
Or they can ask new one? I am asking as it takes 1-2 months to get that.
Thanks.

Hi Amit,
Good news! Seems your application is moving forward.
Nothing on my side yet. Still waiting for them to update the status of the application to in process. It seems that things are a bit slower lately on the QSW side.
I think they might still ask for a new one. I've seen some people take them up to one year to get PR after they had paid the RPRF fee, sometimes it might take a couple of months. It really depends on how long the process would still need. My suggestion is for you to request one anyway. You're not going to lose anything by doing so.
All the best.

Guys ,
here is the news. I got my PPR today at 3:00 PM. I just sent the passports out now and am now sitting down and writing this to you guys.

This is about 20 days from my RPRF request.

So they seem to be working on the QSW applications after all.

Best of luck guys

Surya

One thing I noted is that applications are processed in the order of csq issued and not when applied...this is for all to have a good idea of processing times..
