congratulations.......
if i may advice, pls ensure he take the medicals ASAP. if possible tomorrow... the visa Office is really trying to ensure ur case is finalized b4 ur medical expires by October and u av got to keep up with that pace..... waste no time..... when actually in October did u took ur medicals last year....... pls pls go fot it...
despite, all this, i see a challenge here...
1) Case 1: in the event that ur visa was issued before the expiration of the principal applicants medical which is due for october, the principal applicant must ensure he/she lands in Canada before the expiration of his/her medicals... else they will need start the federal part from sctrach again. if ur hussie takes his medicals now, he will still av till sept 2012 to land if he so chooses... but u will not have that luxury bcos ur medicals will expire by october 2011....
2) Case 2: seeing the tight corner here now, ur visa officer might need to call u to seek ur opinion whetehr u will want for them to still issue ur Visa before the expiration of ur medicals or u will prefer that u retake the medicals and that the visa be delay after u av taken ur medicals....
my advice for u this:if u knw that u wont be able to make the journey almost immediately(cos by my calculations u av like 45days to do the landing were it that ur Visas were issued 2day assuming u had ur medicals oct 30th 2010. but now since it is not issued yet it means u av less than 45days. the fastest medical result i av seen is 14days, so assuming ur hussie is also this fast, then u will av just 28days within which u MUST land else u will redo the federal)tell them u will prefer to do the medicals again. in that way u only would av length the process by 60 more days max... but if u should accept the visa offer and fail to land, ur visa will expire and u will need pay a new set of processing fee et tal

BTW how far with the CSQ with a Mis-spelt name?
