i should have asked this query from the very start since i joined this forum, let me ask it now. i've been searching the internet about Canada's immigration system for 5 years now. i've looked up every website of all provinces for their immigration programs, but never did i see this QSW program of the province of quebec.not until this year only when i received an email from canadavisa.com talking about this QSW. Did i just really missed the website or it was not published in their website? because i really feel that i am losing 3/4 of my life because i might be too late now to apply under this QSW. i could have applied together at the same time with senior members like shahi, lirjan, iceberg, wingsofmaybe, stillhope if i only knew since the very start. when did this program start?. we all knew that immigration rules specialy that of Canada change very often, maybe as i speak policies are being ammended for the betterment of immigration system. hopefully not until i sent my application..

@ Boomerang - Congrats Buddy ,

As I also answered to wings for the same question I can say to u that I registered to emploi-Quebec and didn't have any problem even though I didn't use my CSQ reference number. Try in another way. As I remember I just registered my cousins home address and everything was fine.

regards
Thanks Geribubaboy...I`might try that. Just to appease my curiousity, does your CSQ Individual Reference Number have 8 digits, or 9 digits? I just wonder if I have to call them requesting a new number, or if this one is fine.

Thanks!

@ boomerang,

My Quebec certificate reference number has 9 digits, the first two are letters and the 7 others are numbers. Maybe they have made a mistake or it may be like that but u have to clear it out before u apply for the federal process.

Dear All,

I have started my application process for Quebec and as first step i have prepared all the documents required by my consultant for Quebec Certificate application. As per my own assesment based on point indictors, i feel that i may qualify without having french language knowledge. However it was highly recomended by the consultant that i indicate basic level of french for myself and my wife as it will play an important role in assesment. Honestly i have studies french for about 4 months 10 years ago and now i don't remember a single bit of it.
Coming to the question, based on your expereince and knowledge, what do you think French will play a role in my case.

1) Is French it really necessary?
2) If yes, what are requirements from begineer level? what level of competency is considered basic? any specific certification etc?
3) How are interview conducted normally? Any experience for those who started learning french after application submission and passed interview?
4) if i have to go for french language certficate in near future, what is the expected timeline on my application process till i can send my french language certificate to claim my prooficiency and get my interview waived Off.

I would really apppreciate the senior members to kindly guide me on the subject.

Best Regards,
Effindi

hello,

French is not mandatory, but Quebec is French speaking province, so yes your consultant is right to show some level of french, because in interview they will check how much effort u did to settle down in Quebec.

At least u need to clear delf a2 before your interview.
It is depend upon your area of training, if u r in priority list then u can expect your interview within 3-6 months otherwise 6-10 months.

hello,

French is not mandatory it really might be misleading to state that French is not mandatory.although one can file an application without proof of French proficiency/knowledge, sooner or later in the process, such an applicant will b requested to submit this proof. so the thing is for anyone plying the Quebec route, u MUST av at the back of your mind that u have to learn French.and the earlier u do, the better,FRENCH is STATUTORY but Quebec is French speaking province, so yes your consultant is right to show some level of french, because in interview they will check how much effort u did to settle down in Quebec.
