Bonjour, all! *waves*

I have gotten all my documents together and will be sending my QSW application on Monday :o :o

My visa office is Sao Paulo, Brazil.

My application stats:

Schooling: Master's in Sociology (U.S. degree), Bachelor's Sociology (Canadian degree)
Experience: about 25-30 months (not entirely sure how to calculate it, but either way I get 6 points if I'm reading the grid correctly).
Age: 29
No family in Quebec
No stay in Quebec
English: Advanced, French: Intermediate (2 years in high school, plus taking classes now Int. Level - planning to take TEF in March)

Do you guys think I have a good shot? According to my calculations I have about 51 points before Adaptability points.

Nice to meet you all - this seems like a great forum :)

this enquiry is about Stay in Quebec.

Question: does stay in Quebec need to be for business or can it be personal? Then must it be continuous? or can you accummulate 2 weeks (14 days), by spending 4 weekends (fri - sun) in Quebec? Let me know.

@marylatt..

i think you do have a good chance... pray to God... good luck!..

Hi
any body know what is % of success and failure rate in CSQ interview ?

Hi anumatri...

Like you know ..i m also awaiting interview..n i also was hoping to find an answer for tht... what i have observed so far is...tht i have not seen even 1 case which was refused during an interview... also ppl on this forum like kia n all tell me..tht if you get called for an interview..tht means 70 % of your file is clear...so it is a positive sign...

Dont worry..prepare french as much as u can..believe me if you practice speaking in french to the questions they will ask..like why do you want to immigrate..what will you do if you dont find a job..what will you do to find a job...info abt quebec..you will go through!

Good luck

Hi there,

Well, according to the Immigration Guide:

Le candidat (ou son conjoint) qui a effectué plusieurs séjours d’un même type
peut voir la durée de ses séjours cumulée jusqu’à concurrence du maximum de
points alloués pour les séjours dans cette catégorie. Par exemple, deux séjours
distincts de 2 mois chacun à titre de visiteur sont évalués, en vertu du critère,
comme un séjour de 4 mois et donnent le maximum de points attribuable, soit
2 points.

Which basically means that if you went various times under one purpose (such as business, or tourism), you can add them together, yes. So I think you could get one point for that category.

Thnks for the vital tips and encouragement QSW..

Cheers

Hi , Shahi and other Seniors Please help !!!!

I am also in confusion about the points given for Diploma and Area of Training.

As in my case, I have also Completed Post Seondary Technical (I.e. 12+) Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering (2.6 Years, and totals years of Education -> 12+2.6= 14.6 years)
So as per the rules how many points I would get

Postsecondary school technical diploma attesting to 2 years of full-time studies - 6 points

OR

Postsecondary school technical diploma attesting to 2 years of full-time
studies in training listed in Section A or B of the 'Areas of Training' criterion - 10 Points

And for Areas of Training

Installation and Repair of Telecommunications Equipment - 12 Points
(DVS - 1,800 hours / 2 years) Section B (Quebec Equivalent)
(which is my current field of job related to Diploma and it is on Priority List
but not sure that it is equivalent to Quebec or not?)

OR

Section C (Quebec Equivalent)-Electronics Technology (DCS - 3 years) - 6 Points

OR

Installation and Repair of Telecommunications Equipment - 6 Points
(DVS - 1,800 hours / 2 years) Section C (foreign degree)

OR

Section E (foreign degree) Electronics Technology (DCS - 3 years) - 0 Points

SO here is the following four possibility of getting points for me

1. 6 points for education & 0 Points for Training (as per Sction E(foreign degree) of Training) -6+0= 6 Points

2.6 Points for Education & 6 Points for Training (as per Section C(foreign degree) of Training)- 6+6=12 Points

3. 6 Points for Education & 6 Points for Training (as per Section C(Quebec Equiv.) of Training)-6+6=12Points

4. 10 Points for Education & 12 Points for Training (as per Section B(Quebec Equiv.) of Training )-
10+12=22 Points

So for me it is necessary to get 22 Points for Education & Training in order to be eligible for apply for CSQ, but I am not sure that would they allot me 12 points for training or not? ,that is as per Section B of Quebec Equivalent for Installation and Repair of Telecommunications Equipment (DVS - 1,800 hours / 2 years)

Also here is the site for comparing the study between Quebec and other Countries ,but does not include INDIA so how to check for that Quebec Equivalence Degree for INDIA.

If anybody have any info please reply,

Thanks

@Shahi and qsw and everyone

Please if you are in the last semester of a Masters degree program, and have transcript showing good academic standing, can you claim points for the Masters degree or is this left at the discretion of the immigration officer?

Hi Chibiks..

When i applied... i was giving exams of my post grad...final semester....but subsequently i got a provisional certificate from my dept...and later the detailed mark sheet...which i sent recently..

So at the time of applying its ok..but if you have an interview...by that time you shud have a transcript in your hands..!

Shahi

hi chibiks,
i think you should have mark sheets to claim points, one of my friends who got refusal becasue he did't sent mark sheets of degree.at the time of interview you should have all marksheets(transcripts).

Chibiks..i dont know ..wen i was awarded points!!... i just told you my situation..that at the time of application.... if you may not have the final marrk sheet...but you should have..at the time of interview...like QSW also said..

When do they award you points...well tht only they can tell...
