"On August 1, 2013 new immigration regulations came into effect, which significantly changed the selection criteria under the Quebec Skilled Worker program. Not only did the changes apply to applications submitted after August 1st but also to be the vast majority of files submitted prior to that date. Tens of thousands of applicants will be affected. Many of them have waited patiently in line for a number of years and many of them will no longer qualify. To make matters worse, most of them will not be refunded their Quebec government processing fees."

hello, so what does this means? CSQ is denied.?
or are they asking you to improve score to B2 and then send latest score for them to run a check on your file again.?

Does a french language score less than B2 means no CSQ?

Hi everyone,
I had applied for quebec Skilled Worker prog in india, application submitted on Dec 27 2010, I received ack on Feb 2011.
Since then there are no updates for my file. I believe it is still in CSQ processing which is a king of dark hole for applicants. as
no one can find processing time information, there are absolutely no updates. i submitted by french score little late, may 2012.
That was a mistake from my side.

here is my only question to you all.?
do you think i should have a positive hope that I will get a CSQ soon, as many people are getting letters for their french language proficiency etc.

I have scored only A2 in TCFQ.

I am not disappointed or demoralized, all I want is to make next move in my career and this CSQ is a roadblocker for that.
let me know your thoughts about if I should have positive hopes to get a CSQ with A2 in french and freaking 3 years of wait time.

thanks

What is your total points now? You may need it now (B2) if your points fall below the threshold if they apply the the new rules to your case.

Friends, is it possible to study french on my own? Or would it be very difficult?

There is no clear definition of 'processing' it could be any time between AOR and interview call. So, one does not really know if you are 'in processing' and which rules apply to you.

Hi,
I applied since 2011 and AOR received in Aug 2011. I called them last week and they confirm that my application is still in waiting phase and not yet in the study phase and she confirm that i'm under new rules.
She said: mon application est toujours en phase d'attente de traitement et l'application n'est pas encore rendue à la phase de traitement. Elle m'a dit il faut bien patienter.
Hahahhaah

i submitted my application for csq last oct.. iam a collefge graduate. i was able to submit my college diploma.. do i still need to submit my high school diploma.. would my application be returned because i wasnt able to submit my high school diploma? tnx

I disagree with those neighbours of yours. Tell them that B2 or even higher is achievable . I am an Anglophone, and I reached B2 on first attempt of TEF, with just 4 months of self study.

From A1 to A2 alone is difficult to hurdle how much more for B1 and since B2 is required for you to have a points then i think i must find a way to have that B2 Diploma... :D ...

You mean you were allowed by AF to take B2 TEF without starting from A1-A2 and B1?... ::)

Hi everyone !

I've been absent from the forum for a year now. Wanted to check up on how the old chaps are doing !

Is my understanding of the current situation correct ?
> All old applications like mine (Mar 2011) will be assessed according to the new rules.
> Language requirements are a min of B2, below which there will be no points awarded.
> Old applicants not meeting this criteria will soon get a rejection letter.

Thanks :)

Here in Cameroon TEF is administered by Centre Culturelle Francais, I registered and scored B2 first time. My question now must my wife also score B2, before I get through to interview? French people are so crazy and keep families waiting and waiting.
