Geochaddy,

I think that regardeless of whether you press 9 for english you'll be transfered to someone who will reply to you "Est-ce que je peux vous aidez". I also experienced it when I called. They probably expect that even if you pressed 9 you might wanna talk in french because they all hate english. ;D You need to answer the only phrase "Je voudrais parler en anglais" :)

one day, she said no ! you have to speak in freench as you can speak so go on .. i told her i am week in french she said NO !

i started in french and started sweating ..

then in one point she returned back to english ...

so always say Hi good morning !!!

Thanks everyone for all the advised. I called not too long ago and although I pressed option 9 for English someone still responded in French. I did exactly as Signalmaker said, I said "hello good afternoon" and she then responded in English. Well of course she wanted to speak to the main applicant. I gave my husband the phone and she asked him a series of questions to verify his identity. We didn't get much though. She said our file is "in process". She couldn't say whether we were under old or new rules or whether we were still priority. My husband asked when we could expect to hear from them and she said within a couple of months. That didn't give us any comfort but we continue to wait. I will probably try and call another time and hopefully a gentleman answers, based on the feedback on this thread the men seem more willing to assist. :D

:D :D :D :D u r sooooo biased, I pray the next person you speak with will be a "gentlewoman".

You need to pay Signalmaker for the tip u got freely. Maybe u would have been calling and getting french speakers till you get your CSQ ;).

ehheh .. i am happy that was a nice call i guess coz to hear " in Process " itself is a big progress ...

by the way they speak french in anyways when you call them and they pick up the call ..

about Priority this is what i was thinking about .. they cannot say anything ..

about new rules and old rules, they are SO conservative to know ..

But ! they know well we want to know In Process or NOT, so they implicitly say yes old rules .. by saying n Process ...

You just have to press it instantly, as you hear the english words describing 9 for english language. So just press it quickly, while it still speaks about that choice.

i think ive tried this before but somehow i still ended up with french. anyway, ill try it again next time i call. thanks!

HELLO EVERYBODY

IS IT TRUE THAT PROCESSING TIME OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY APPLICATION AFTER GETTING CSQ IS 19 MONTHS IF THE APPLICANT IS IN QUEBEC ?

If the applicant is unemployed right now, will there be any bearing on the application? Eventhough he possesses already a 4year experience in his occupation? Thanks.

I wanted your opinion if anyone has the same experience

aplicant principal can be changed ? in our case my husband is the principal applicant but he has two years without work. we have applied in 2011 and he was then working in business. now I'm at work and I have 10 years experience.
Is it possible to do the VO request for change of principal applicant.
