Yes, this is the same thread you are reading now btw. AOT 0 point was instant refuse between July 2012 and August 2013, because at least 6 points in AOT was requirement of intake of application.

Thank you for sharing, but there is no official note about "preliminary examination" being the threshold for applying the new rules. The official website says:

All applications will be processed according to the new rules in effect as of August 1, 2013, with the exception of those for which processing began prior to that date.

So it's all about processing, not preliminary examination per se. We only got this "preliminary examination means old rules" from the MICC Call Centre Agents, but they are clearly unreliably source of information.

I guess Preliminary examination and Processing are the same, and your application should start Processing to escape from neew rules

the question now is : who will tell you your application started processing or not yet.

one girl from call center yes your application is in process now, but i dont trust anyone now !

Processing or Examination should only START, not finished as some guys said ..

if it is finished then I WOULD HAVE THE CSQ :)))))))))))))))))))))

CAN ANYONE CLARIFY if the new fee for processing the Quebec Skilled Worker Class has gone from CAD 750 to CAD 10,000 startiing Aug 1, 2013??

and by processing I just mean to look at an applicant's file and papers submitted under the Quebec Immigration Program for CSQ consideration.

WOW.....That is a VERY big jump in fees....looks they want to control intake and total numbers coming in thro that program...by eye balls popped out when I saw that big figure of 10,000 CAD$ :eek:

I believe that for investors, not skilled workers.

I appreciate if someone let me know how many points I will get from my profile:

1- Education: Bachelor (Computer Engineering 2007), Master (Electrical Engineering 2010), PhD (Electrical Engineering-in progress).
2- French: TEFaQ (Listening/Speaking=A2/B1).
3- English: IELTS (Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing=7/7/7.5/5.5).
4- Age: 31.
5- Work Experience: Research Assistant 3 years.
6- Living in Quebec.

I need to know if I am way short of points, because I am thinking of withdrawing my application.

Thanks

Hi All,

The following is my case. Applied in November 2011 and received AOR in Feb 2012. Not sure, whether my case has to comply with old or new rules. I see a definite priority for our case, if it is assessed with NEW rules, since, the principal applicant in my case is my wife who has Computer Science engineering and has worked for close to 12 years now. So, if assessed with new rules, the following could be the points we get

1. Principal Applicant AOT => 12
2. Education => 10
3. Experience => 08
4. Age (if we consider today)=> 14
5. IELTS (7.5/7.5/7.5/7.5) => 5
6. Spouse Education (Engineering) => 03
7. Age (if we consider today) => 02
8. Children (2 under 12) => 08

The total for this comes to 62 and considering the Financial Status point it will be 63.

I am not consider Spouse AOT (since though i am in Computer field for the past 15 years i am a Instrumentation engineer by education). Also, not considering my French (TEFAQ result for spouse - A2 in listening and A1 in speaking). My wife, has not done any french courses.

There is a GOOD chance to get a clearance only if we are considered in the new rules. And i hope that it will be always to the advantage of the applicant. I HOPE... I HOPE.. :-(

Thanks, AMR2011

Hi AMR,

I have also applied in the month of June 2013 I haven't received AOR yet.

AOT Civil Engineering (12 points)
IELTS ; (5 points)
No French (0 Points)
Experience : 15 year (8 points)
Age 37 (At the time of application) ( 12 POints) ?????
Spouse overall (6 points) 3 education and 3 on her age
Kids 2 below 6 years age( 8 points)
Funds (1 point)

Total Score is
Education 12
AOT 12
Experiene 8
Age 12
French 0
English 5
Spouse Education 3
Spouse French 0
Spouse age 3

Now my question is that whether age will be cosidered when the application was filed or they will assess my age when they will assess my application. Any commments or previous cases please suggest me.

@AMR...For age you will get the points for the age which was at that time when they received your application...so dont worry for your age points and dont reduce it, if this wouldn't be the case, we would have never gotten our CSQ that too with waiver with just A1 results....I dont understand why they are slow, lets see how fast they will move now as they have cleared the rules and laws....all the best.

I dont think your A1 will be of worth anymore..
This is same as what you have mentioned, you will be through to the Interview stage, however, you have the task of convincing the Interviewer for 3 golden points.
