Thanks for that link lemans...it is known to most of us that Quebec would like their immigrants to successfuly adapt once we get there, hence ONE of the many other requirements to apply as QSW is the french test result. However, I am just trying to understand Leevy's situation to be able to help her in my own little ways. And if we talk factual here...based on quebec government website, we can still submit application providing our AOT belongs to the list which gives 6,12 or 16 points AND achieving at least the required minimum points. I am not saying french language is not important (otherwise I wouldn't spend money, time and effort to learn the language) and i have suggested this to Leevy as well.

If you want to discuss general matter, that is perfectly fine. But if you quote something specific then make your point specific too for the benefit of the one asking for help and for the rest of the members of this forum as well. Cheers.
its just discussion :p

Hello everybody out here,
Can anyone kindly help me. I hold a Canadian Permanent Residence and I did my Landing procedure in Toronto. I had to leave the country and am planning to be back in Canada by end of August. I was wondering if I can possibly reside in Montreal for good. Thanking you in advance.

The AOT is based on your field of education not the kind of work you are doing. You may refer to the list below to see where your degree/diploma belongs to.
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-6.pdf
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/fr/divers/domaines-12-16.pdf

Also, your diploma must be obtained within 5 years before you submit your application, otherwise I quote from quebec website: "Failing that, you must have practised, on a full-time basis and for at least one year out of the five years preceding the date of your application, a profession or trade in an area related to that diploma."

I don't understand why they insist on the french test (probably either you didn't tick the box or you lack the required points). I think its impossible for you to submit french test result before july 31. So when you fill up the forms again, be sure to tick the box that you are not submitting a french attestation. Just go through your papers again and as you know make sure everything is translated to english or french (when needed). Recalculate your points.

I have not received any sort of response from them yet. I submitted my papers 1st week of this month so I'm just waiting and hoping everything is okay as I just did everything by myself :-X
you want to go to that place where 90% percent people speak french and you are asking, why they insist on the french test. crazy question. They don't want people who don't speak french.

Hi Folks,

I am new to this forum and am here to seek opinion from some of the seniors and other experience members on this forum

I had applied for QSC in march 2013 with myself as principal applicant along with spouse as co applicant
Have B.E. in Mechanical engineering from India which appeared in the list of occupations of 12-16 points
The application was returned back last month . From what I understood after translation of the letter was that the reason for rejection for me (principal applicant) is that my work experience is not in the field of diploma , in the last five years , which is true. Agreed that was something that I overlooked originally while applying. My bad.

However, for my spouse they had mentioned that proof Legality of employment was not provided and hence application is returned back. Her occupation also appears in the list of 12-16 points and she does have relevant experience in her field CODE C018. No other reasons given for either me or my spouse

In this regard can we reapply with myself still as principal applicant and provide my spouses proof of legality of employment.

or can we reapply with my spouse as the primary applicant and with myself as the co applicant ? or Is there any other way for us to reapply ?

Quebec immigration site mentions that either you or your spouse should be holding a diploma listed under 12-16 points

At this point I also would like to know the meanings of the ticks against Diplôme
étranger and Diplôme du
Québec
(ou équivalent). I have used translation services but it would help if someone could reaffirm my understanding

Thanks in advance . Would sincerely appreciate your feedbacks

the only way you get CSQ without interview, they send you CSQ instead of AOR ;)
AOR is only as it says, Acknowledgment on Receipt, studying the case and deciding whether they need more papers, or want interview or waiver is after AOR

in some rare cases, some guys got CSQ directly without getting AOR.

Before you make a "crazy" response make sure you understand the WHOLE thing why such statement was written. As i have mentioned earlier that paragraph you were quoting was SPECIFIC to Leevy's situation AND NOT a general statement or discussion as to why quebec is insisting us about french. To make it clear: I was only telling Leevy that I don't understand why the assessing officer of her papers insist ON HER about french. It could either be she didnt tick the box that she is not sending an attestation OR she lack points at all. I wasn't shouting to the whole forum as "Guys I don't understand why Quebec insist us about french (see the difference?).

Yes of course they prefer people who speaks and understand french language....and I bet they also prefer people whose minds aren't narrow. Cheers.

Thank you dear Ketevan for your prompt reply. In fact, I got my PRC as a skilled worker in Toronto, being the main applicant and along with ALL my family members. As I said earlier, we did our landing in Toronto and had to leave for a while. This was last February. Now we have changed our mind to settle in Montreal or anywhere in Quebec. By the way, most of us speak French. So do you think it's possible for us to be residents of Montreal?
Thanking you (and ALL the Seniors here) once again.
Regards,

Regards,
Im not being nosy, but why did you leave Toronto? Are you still able to go back to Toronto? Did you have your permanent residency through a provincial nominee program? And which country are you now? Anyways, if you are really interested in Montreal, you might want to spend time browsing this website...it has everything you need about coming to Quebec. Good luck.

do not call as they will not give such a personal info at phone, just send them an email and wait , they may take long time to respond and may take one day, in my case some emsils one day and some emails 4 weeks ..
Thanks Signalmaker for the response.
Wanted some precision: 1) Please help me precise the email you contacted them with(just to confirm)
2) What should I title the email, what language is preferrable to use and should i tell them directly that I need my dossier number?

Sorry for the worries, but just that I'm striving for perfection since it is my first ever time to email MICC.

Thanks in advance and waiting
